taking into account currency and everthing i calcuated about 2000 us dollars worth of donations on http://www.reactos.org/en/foundation_donators.html since first of year so 1600 dollars amounts to almost a whole year of donations to reactos


but i think that 1000 euros is being spent on hardware for the devs to be able to use it on maybe there buy printers webcams etc to hook into usb port or maybe computers to test reactos on (using google translate on the bank website it says

"It is the first and only system that can use both Windows applications and drivers, so that all existing software can be reused. With the 1000 € we would encourage especially the infrastructure that is vital for the project. More on www.ReactOS.org"

They might have "music piracy" in their name, but they aren't such. They chose that name, because publishers used "music pirates" as a way to describe people that illegaly download music. The Musikpiraten was founded by members of the German pirate party (Piratenpartei). Their goal (a free translation from the German wiki page about them) is:
"advancement of free culture with a focus on music as an artistic means of expression"

They also created two music books (one for normal songs and one for christmas ones) licensed under creative commons so that children in kindergartens could sing songs without the need to pay licences to the GEMA (link to English Wikipedia).

Thank you for the clarification. I gave them one of my votes, but gave the other 2 to Reactos. The description I read was noble, IMHO. Yes, I agree with you about the need for CC music for children. Here in the States, we had some problems, like Girl Scouts being told they cannot sing most popular tunes. I don't know how the industry and their watchdogs would even know, but it is a shame when children must learn to cover themselves legally at such an age. So much for the innocence of childhood.

Anyway, I see we slipped to 8th. We could use about 2000 votes to get to first.

Well, I've done my part. I asked RGB's 700 Facebook followers to vote for ReactOS, and I made the case for ReactOS in our monthly newsletter. (Frankly I think the prospect of a free Windows-compatible OS should sell itself, but I haven't detected any enthusiasm.)
