New distro and setup managment
hi, my distro gets in beta state ( for long time ago I announced the first pre-alpha via the mailing list ) I have now included 7-Zip and MinGW, useful programs that work with ReactOS, and have a question about setup management:
How can the feature implemented, that support "SP_COPY_FORCE_IN_USE" in setupapi, for Update like applications? I think in winnt like OS's the files are copied in the dllcache directory, but I'm not sue of this.
You can find my distro at www.realdos.de

RealDOS Workstation Beta 2 and RICO 3.0 available
I have complete the Beta 2 of my ReactOS Distribution. It is a fresh SVN snapshot. I wrote a basic configuration tool called RICO ( RealDOS Installation and COnfiguration ). The tool is witten in ( MSV ) C under GPL. Currently this tool has an installation and network module. The network module works currently only for pcnet ( VMware ) network. You can try it out at:

I have completed the last Beta of my ReactOS Distribution. Now ScummVM (and sdl.dll) is included and I have extended my installation and configuration tool (RICO - GPL) with an installation and update modul. A modul for the screen - settings is currently in work (look at the source). For the release candidates I plan an application and device database (according to the last SVN Snapshot) and a faq-section on my site.
You can download the Beta and RICO Sourcecode on:

Join the dev. team...
Hey, why not join the developer team? There are a lot of userland applications needed for the 0.3 version I suppose.DOSProfi wrote:Currently I work for my own, but if I can add it to the svn tree, it would be nice.
A good distribution with some good apps are needed, but skilled developers are needed badly.

Okay, here is some pages with good info on how to get involved...DOSProfi wrote:Sorry, but how to join???

A new version of RealDOS Workstation is now available. I extend RICO (RealDOS Installation and COnfiguration) with a language change feature. This feature changes the language in the ISO File. Currently it can only change the RealDOS Workstation ISO File, because I used a fixed position to change it. In the next days I extend it with the possibility to change any ReactOS Image and release the Source Code.
To provide Updates it would be necessary to implement the SP_COPY_FORCE_IN_USE style in setupapi.dll. If nobody working on it I would try to implement it.
The RealDOS Workstation is available at the usual place.
