UHCI is used by intel chipsets.
OHCI is used by SiS chipsets.
EHCI is backwards compatible with OHCI.

USB team struggles with interrupt handling.
Right now there is also a problem with the UHCI interrupt handling, Fireball tries to fix this, but hasn't succeded yet, but hang on, in time UHCI (which is the most used USB interface) will work.
The OHCI interface isn't as usual but XBox and some HW vendors use it.
The easiest way I know to figure what USB controller that is installed in a computer is to use an installation of windows. Go to the device manager and look for USB controllers and choos properties. Go to the drivers tab and hit the more information button, there you see a list of drives used, one of them looks like this:
c:\Windows\System32\usbohci.sys for OHCI controller and of cource
c:\Windows\System32\usbuhci.sys for UHCI controller.
In my computer I have OHCI, UHCI and EHCI controllers.

EHCI (usb 2.0) is backwards compatible with OHCI, so i think it will work in USB 1.1 mode then.

Keyboard but not Mouse
Okidoki, I have successfully run Keyboard on my UHCI controller, but the mouse didn't start, but as Fireball and HPoussin works on the interrupt problem perhaps this issue will be solved too.GaeTaN2 wrote:Thanks for the tip, so in fact, it's uhci for the motherboard's usb, and ehci for the pci card.
The motherboard's usb don't work...
And I guess the ehci isn't supported ?
Jaix, did you manage to get mouse and keyboard working with one of your usb ?

Another question, does reactos reconise all usb cards by default, or does it need to add them manually ?

USB is PnP!
Yes, ReactOS USB is as far as I know PnP, and will work as far as it is developed, there for bug reports to Bugzilla are welcome.A-v-S wrote:Another question, does reactos reconise all usb cards by default, or does it need to add them manually ?
Right now there is something strange between the PS2 and USB that HPoussin are working on: http://www.reactos.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=945
