new version notification

Post by boomhauer »

is there, or what is the best method, of being notified when a new version of reasctos is released? sorry if this is a dumb question but I don't see an obvious way to sign up for some method of notification. And, I'd like to know!

That's a great idea! I don't think there's currently a way to get notified, but it would be great if there was.

There is the possibility of RSS feeds from the homepage, but these seem broken ATM. EDIT: Only the first one, RSS 2.0 and Atom work correctly.

You can receive a notification from sourceforge where the download is saved.

...or you can follow any of our devs/testers blog.I recommend the www.myreactos.com site.it is created and maintained by Reactos official testers and developers. The site has a RSS feed and english/spanish/other blogs among other things.
If anyone is interested to help www.myreactos.com translating the English(and quite interesting posts) to his/her language, contact me via PM(private message)
thanks :)

Why you have create a new site myreactos.org? Why you does not work on reactos.org? I see no sense to split the community to different sites.

...and everyone is free to make his own commuity site....
ReactOS is still in alpha stage, meaning it is not feature-complete and is recommended only for evaluation and testing purposes.

And it's not mantained by the same people, this is the official reactos site, myreactos.com is primarily (if I'm wrong, correct me) to make a number of blogs about ReactOS with an approach of things that users can (relatively) easily understand.

Sorry for the bad english.

EDIT:

And, of course, that.
