DIB code generator (mailing list, I don't know what it does)
http://reactos.com:8080/archives/public ... 04063.html
somewhere in these forums there's stuff about video or graphics being faster than xp.

Actually, the things you mention are one and the same thing.... So we're back to a list with one entry :(

In my experience, it seems to crash faster:P

I guess at this stage we can't expect there to be many things that ReactOS is better at. How do the boot times compare?

If you wanted to raise publicity for the project, you could spend time specially working on small areas where ROS could beat XP, but I wouldn't have thought it was worth doing when there's so much else to work on.

Where does Windows phone home? Yes, there're rumors, but to my knowledge they are just that: rumors.

The problem is that it does not work under ReactOs.

How about Windows Product Activation? There's more, just sniff between your workstation and internet router.
It compiles, let's ship it!

An approved German hardware magazine analyzed WPA some years ago. They didn't find anything suspicious.
Here it is: http://www.tecchannel.de/client/sicherheit/402147/

Suspicious or not, it's phoning home. They have your IP address, and product keys.

Well, IMHO phoning home means that the software doesn't ask the user before sending data. AFAIK WPA does ask the user.

"Phone Home or face uninstallation" - what a choice ;).

I agree with you that Windows would be better without WPA. Not because I think it's spying, but because it's simply annoying.

I'd have no problem if the list of advantages of ReactOS over WinXP would contain something like "ReactOS doesn't need a product activation". This is objective and objectivity is what such a list needs if it shall be taken seriously.;)

I don't like Microsoft's FUD against OpenSource, but I also don't like the community's FUD against Microsoft. I don't think the OpenSource community is in need of bashing Microsoft.

Installation of ReactOS takes a fraction of the time it takes to install Windows XP.
