Do what you want. Just stop posting misleading informations, especially if you dont have enough insight, to distinguish such.

I think what nicam is trying to say is not that one branch is better than the other, nor that one branch is going to be the future ofthe project, only to show users how each is progressing.

Maybe that is just my misunderstanding though :P

Based off some of his other comments, that isn't the impression I'm getting.

Arwinss:

Yarotows:
http://www.reactos.org/en/newsletter_74.html

That's about the most you're going to get at this point in time. If all that isn't enough, then I'm not sure what the devs could possibly say to make it enough, since this is me pulling all of the info I can get out of them with respect to their work on the branches. At least with yarotows we're dealing with various architectural pieces and creation of new components, whereas much of arwinss is basically routing Wine library calls to their appropriate ROS counterparts and bridging the gap between them.

of course you will not be hammered. every test is appreciated. :D

Now if you really want to do some benchmarks try to test graphics stuff not general IO, because those two branches change only graphics subsystem ;)

Totally agree with Z98 and Smiley.
ARWINSS is great fun to watch it grow, and hopefully be a great help to the project.
But in the end, that's all it is. :D

Hi nicamarvin2005

Thanks a lot for the benchmarks :D

So a general conclusion is that Reactos 3.11 > Reactos trunk > reactos arwinss

Regarding arwinss performance there is no surprise in these results. It is known that we used more wine code to achieve compatibility sacrificing performance. This is was the main doubt of the devs against arwinss, ie. that is slow by design.

But it is indeed surprising that reactos has become a bit slower. If the results are really correct (I also can't understand how it beats windows), then we should focus a bit in performance :)

ps. may I assume that in all of these tests you didn't use any graphics driver?

ReactOS is not really using any video drivers... Loading them, yes but not using. Its easy to check, try to delete the one you picked in 1st stage - vbe or vga.

This has got out of control, now please everybody stay on topic. This thread is only for giving a link to the latest Arwinss iso and to let you share your experiences with the rest of the community.
This is no competition of "Arwinss vs anything" so stop doing benchmarks that have no foundation and are completely useless and misleading. Thanks.
