Post by gabrielilardi » Mon Feb 15, 2010 12:11 pm

Hi all,
I've just started this thread so you can have a direct link to the latest Arwinss ISO. I'll be uploading it as soon as I have it compiled.

Please check the arwinss folder in SourceForge for the latest cd images.
Subscribe to this rss feed to know automatically when new arwinss iso's are uplodaded.
See the Arwinss wiki page for informations about Arwinss.

News/Notes:
- The taskbar issue is fixed.

About support for these builds

Post by Posterbot » Tue Feb 16, 2010 7:27 am

I can get all other released versions working in a Virtual Machine using VBox, either VMDK for VBox, REL 3.11 BootCD ISO's, plus trunk builds. I cannot get the 2 latest versions of Arwinss I have tried working in VBox. I get an error when ReactOS starts up and installs devices: CMP_WaitNoPendingInstallEvents() failed! Rebooting Now (And it's frozen when trying to hit the O.k. button.)

Is there, (or should there be) a separate section for support for testing the Arwinss builds? I feel I do not know who to direct my questions to.

*(and for that reason, sorry if this is posted in the wrong thread)

Issue 21 (CMP_WaitNoPendingInstallEvents() failed!) is the biggest one right now, many of the other problems have already been tackled (see wiki), after that one i'll be able to test on real hardware again. And btw, Macromedia Flash 8 works! :)

As I said this is to satisfy the curiosity of those willing to try Arwinss, it is still in an early stage, so these kind of things are expected, you may just ask here if you want to know something.

Possibly quite an old bug: http://www.reactos.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=4142

I may have found an regression, since with arwinss-dbg-45199.iso, under virualbox, I didn't get the N. 21 bug. know, with the arwinss-45596-dbg.iso, under the same virtualbox machine, I've only changed the mounted iso, i get the 21 bug!

This issue seems to be timing dependent, probably Arwinss is somehow faster than trunk and makes this issue pop up, Fireball's aware of it.

It's there even if you don't see it, just click on where the start menu is "supposed" to be it'll come up, you can also right click on the task bar...

Ok, issue 21 no longer appears. Instead i get "EnableUserModePnpManager() failed!"...

This is on real hardware btw...

Another known bug. It's not fixed yet and happens also in trunk, try resetting.

Arwinss is getting better, I hope in a short time, we could enjoy a very stable reactos version... my thanks to developers and people who is carrying out this project.
