Umm... hard to say
...and where is FreeDOS :?:
(I voted for Unix/Linux as this is the OS I'm using most time)

What, no Windows NT 4? :)
Uh, I currently have access to Linux, Windows 98,NT,XP and 2K. I'd say that's probably in approximate order of how much I use them. Linux is just one of those things I have installed with vague hopes of getting acquainted, and Win98 is mainly used for a couple of legacy apps.

I see you haven't been optimistic enough to include ReactOS in the poll.

that's the problem, my 1st list had FreeDOS, MS DOS, ReactOS, Windows NT4 and so on all included (even embeded systems) but the forum message popped out "2 many questions" or something like that ...

I used 98SE till recently (best OS of the win 9x line), and I now use win server 2003 (best of the NT line, even if it's just an updated windows 2000).

not really a legit version, but I guess most home users who have win 2000 did not pay for it ;) (or windows XP pro corporate for that matter).

Like OpenOffice.org, ReactOS will help fight piracy :)

Windows 2000 SP4, and it will be for a long time,
until ReactOS becomes usable/stable (v0.5/v1.0).

You should have at least mentioned (Free-)BSD and MacOS, ReactOS however is not useble as primary OS at it's current state.

PS: I use Windows XP.
PPS: I doubt that someone yet uses Longhorn or still uses (Free-)DOS as primary OS.
Where do you want ReactOS to go today ?

i wish i could say beos, but without drivers for my graphics- and isdncard i can't use it for many things...

to the freedos-discussion:
it's a long time since i tried to use it (~1-1.5yrs), but i almost immediately switched to drdos7 as it worked much better.... but, of course, a lot can happen in one year...

I like it better than drdos7 (I have this, too) because it needs less memory and yes it really happened a lot to it in the last year(s)...

Also, it's true that not many people still use dos as main os today.

I use MacOS X primarily.. and on my other box I used Ubuntu Linux. They both worked pretty well. I had XP Pro until the product activation stuff told me I had modified my hardware too many times(I was actually trying to use a SOFTWARE emulated CD Burner) and told me I had to call microsoft for help. It was a legal copy and I didn't really feel like calling them so that's why I use Ubuntu. Maybe I was just just in a bad mood that day but it worked out great. I am looking forward to the day ReactOS is usable/stable, having a usable Windows compatible operating sysystem that is freely distributable is gonna rock.

How about Symbian...

Post by Jaix »

Hey guys, I guess almost all of you aren't totally true when you are referring to your primary OS (if primary OS means most time), I guess most of you have a cellphone, and you have it on all day and all night right? Then is should be the phone OS for your primary OS, in my case Symbian 60
PS: Just kidding!
