If someone doesn't like the bootscreen, they need to lighten up. It's not like they made ReactOS use File Manager or something. (Though File Manager would be cool to have in ROS. ) If people don't know that ReactOS devs don't have a sense of humor by now then they probably didn't care to test the OS long enough to shut it down and see the shutdown messages. Everybody knows these open-source projects aren't super-formal. Don't believe me? Type about:mozilla in Firefox.
There's nothing strange about "flattering" Microsoft with the reference. If the devs didn't like MS's operating system they wouldn't be attempting to clone it. Love or hate Microsoft, but if you like ReactOS you at least have to respect the talents at MS for making NT to begin with.
Well... I know there are technical objections, but I actually DID like Windows 3.11 itself, too. I used it for quite a time on an old laptop, and wrote a lot of my university stuff on it. And I really did not care about this 16bit vs 32 bit story, because for me it WORKED, and did it nicely.

Btw, next version will have the old one again anyway. 0.3.11 just sounded too much like Win 3.11 to not make this lil joke. An no, we wot make a poll for anything like this. If the devs decide to make a small and temporary tribute then its up to us. Such a poll would have resulted in another two weeks to wait, too.
