Problem with VMWare and Reactos 0.3 SVN

Post by BOT_ev » Mon Jun 06, 2005 3:58 pm

Hi, i try to install ReactOS-trunk-r15818 in VMWare 5.0 (in 4.0 too) but unfortunately without any success. In the end of text mode installation:

Code: Select all

Setup failed to create the registri hives
And then after reboot:

Code: Select all

freeldr.sys not found
Any ideas ? 10x in advance :)

The SVN versions are full of bugs.. Try another release.

If it's the first time you try ReactOS I recommend you to try the official 0.2.6 release.

It`s not my first time installation of SVN release. I`m a hardcore ReactOS fan ;) But this problem is new for me.

I believe that revision 15796 is the culprit.

Yes you are right. I tried with 15795 and then with 15796. 15795 work fine. The problem obviously is in 15796.

The change in 15796 has been reverted in 15819. Updating to a revision after that should therefore fix this (haven't tried yet myself though)

That's because the changes were reverted in 15819 ;)
