ReactOS running nicely on hardware! :D
hey, just wanted to say that I have reactos running nicely on an old compaq deskpro. I kinda lost the ability to use the mouse though, as my last non usb ball mouse broke (oh noes), and I cant seem to get a usb lazer mouse to work for the life of me. other then the mouse issue, I have almost everything working. (networking doesnt work, but I suspect that the network card is broken in it. I'll swap it out later). I'll be throwing some older racing games at it soon enough.

Speaking of real hardware, back when 0.3.10 was first released I got it to run on an ECS E7S5A Pro mobo-powered PC as well. Is there a list of known working hardware somewhere?
Re: ReactOS running nicely on hardware! :D
Compatibility DB is there for you! I think there is a HW section in it...

I can try lol. the stuff in it is REALLY old.can you post a list the computer hardware?
Re: ReactOS running nicely on hardware! :D
It's pretty useless: we do need to identify exactly any test machine configuration (chipsets, firmwares, vendors, etc) if we really wanna understand why something works or not.zefklop wrote:Compatibility DB is there for you! I think there is a HW section in it...
An HWiNFO's reports collection - for example - would be the right way to build a correct hardware compatibility database matrix, IMHO.betaluva wrote:can you post a list the computer hardware?

Can't be as old as an HP I got ROS running on before the mobo died or something. I don't remember the model, but it came out in like 1999, had a 533MHz celeron and 64MB RAM by default (which was upgraded to 192MB later)d3drocks wrote:I can try lol. the stuff in it is REALLY old.can you post a list the computer hardware?

It runs on a Compaq Armada M700 laptop.
This computer is from about 1999.
It has 512 Mb of RAM
80 Gb HDD (formatted to fat32)
Pentium II 400MHz CPU

I'm testing it from ages on a more powerful machine
