Re: desktop gadgets support
I would definitely say that should not be required, but added to a download! deal. I really dislike the sidebar/gadgets.
Re: desktop gadgets support
The only time that I have seen someone use the gadgets in Vista was when a guy I know added "Simon is gay" as a sticky note to the sidebar on a laptop belonging to someone else. It has now been there several months and Simon has yet to remove it.
Of course, I'm aware that some people will have an actual, useful need for gadgets and I wouldn't be opposed to seeing them in ReactOS. However, since they're not really a "core feature" that is essential to Windows compatibility, I'd hardly expect developers to go out of their way in order to implement Gadgets support.
As Haos said, though:

But there are more important matters to attend (in ROS).

The London Underground gadget is actually useful. My friend uses his computer every morning before heading to work, and the gadget tells him which rail lines are down without him having to visit the relevant web site. I guess this applies to all rail-related gadgets. Only nice to have if you're running Aero on Vista though.GoBusto wrote:The only time that I have seen someone use the gadgets in Vista was when a guy I know added "Simon is gay" as a sticky note to the sidebar on a laptop belonging to someone else.

There are 3rd parties sidebars which accepts desktop gadgets. Just download and install them.(Dunno if they accept MS sidebar gadgets or own gadgets)
