You forgot to mention that Win7 RC will expire in few months. As for advantage, it is the best known opensource model of NT architecture. Other that educational/programming/freedom of modifying? Do we need any?

Windows 7 RC will send bi-hourly shutdown signals to the machine starting March 1st, 2010, it doesn't exactly "expire."

The expiration is for 1st June 2010.

System time, and synchronization with the Windows Time Server. I've nothing to say if you're going to take measures to keep the system usable, such as setting the System time back, and either disconnecting the computer from the Net or rerouting all time sync requests to some other place.

Better be the last off topic but, the BIOS time can also be used I'm sure. It's also possible that if you download a file with a creation date of the expiration time or the bi-hourly shutdown time, Windows 7 may take that file and reference to it. I'm sure they have many more ways to check the cut-off.

I'm sure you can figure out how to get around that too, but let's just leave it there.
