Freepascal 2.2.2 for GUI apps on ReactOS

Post by cybermonkey »

Hi,

since it is known that Lazarus doesn't work on ReactOS yet, I gave fpGUI a try. (You can find it on http://opensoft.homeip.net/fpgui/)
I testet it and it works very good, except there are no cursors in memo or input fields. Some screenshots are found under http://www.cybermonkey.de.ms
So it is possible to code in Object Pascal nativley on ReactOS. :D (Maybe the cursor issue will vanish one day)

BTW: Is there a svn client which works on ReactOS? I tried several but none did ...

Best wishes.

That's great news that Pascal is getting more love on ReactOS :)

Haven't tried running an SVN client on ROS yet, I'm afraid. Not sure how stable the network stack is, so if it doesn't work in a recent build, I doubt you'll have much luck if even the CLI client won't run :(

Well I wanted to try that CLI client but it comes as a *.msi file and ReactOS can't launch it ... :(
BWT, I updated my screenshot page, where I will test some further development environments and programming languages. So far there are now working: Blassic (classic Basic), yaBasic (yet another Basic) and fnxbasic (partly).

I thought I would mention this just in case you have not heard of it, as the project tends to fly under the radar. :?: 8)

Ultimate++ is a C++ cross-platform rapid application development suite focused on programmers productivity. It includes a set of libraries (GUI, SQL, etc..), and an integrated development environment.

thou the upp-mingw installation fails with a BSOD but it might be one you want to keep an eye on :D

A while back I started working on an educational project using FreePascal:
http://www.turbocontrol.com/monitor.htm

I just tested my minimal FreePascal distribution and compiled a "Hello World" application on ReactOS and it worked well:
http://www.turbocontrol.com/helloworld.htm

Does ReactOS support COM ports? I haven't found anything yet on that.

I'm also using FreePascal and fpGUI on embedded Linux for a work project.

ReactOS looks interesting!

In Debug mode COM1 is used for debug output from the OS. otherwise serial ports should be accessible.
