nowing, i think, not manny.. or not enough have know about the Reactos
Projeckt.. this is a posibility to make a little bit more Advertising for the
reactos Projeckt.. and i think one intervall it's enough to tell anyone to it is
give a Reactos Projeckt.. only one intervall to more as hundred of thousent
mailadresses ... but, realy only one intervall nore it is realy a mistake, it is
realy fast in the blacklist of the filters and this shold not be !

I don't think the developers would want to send spam :)

I think, the most people have one or more than one spam filter with their mail program or mail provider. And these spam filters are more secure than application filters. So the most people will never see these mails in there incoming mailbox. Then so a email is useless.

But you can begin to write a email to all your friends with the please to send this mail to all their friends and so on. Perhaps there are some people who can programming in what we need for ReactOS.

Spamming is not an option and not tolerated.

hy,

not realy send it as spam, only send one mail per user, more not...
also not spamming.. only sending one mail about it to tell
it is give Reactos.. a other way to "live".. :) to any user on a list..
so i mean not realy Spamming, only a/one wave to users
of a listing...

Spamming is, if whant anyone make manny with a unfree produkt,
to buy it.. and at most is it a sexarticle or v...gra *grin*
We whant to give away a free produkt and whant tell peoples
it is give.. but only once !! it is not a Sexarticle and v...gra too, no,
it's a free thing to can take it for free..

Oky, perhaps, it is now still too early to think about it, but a possibility,
it would certainly be easy to Reactos still known to make a possibility,
it would be all times. (i hope google had translate correckt*bg*)

Guennie1568, my frend's know all about this Poject,
Irfan (viewer) and Christian (TC) is helping silence here ;)
and others too..... eehh my mom too *biggrin* realy, she had
start to learn it befor 3-4 Jears ans she is now so ~ 65 Jears

(hey Mom, hy,hy ;) )

You are wrong. Spamming is all kind of email messages that are unsolicited, in other words, that recepient didnt agree for and doesnt want it.

Hy,

So it would then also clarified.
Would have been good, even if a few heads of reactos was said to have had, it could be the tread to take to be fundamentally declare that the community of reactos fundamentally from spam distances, and only on correkte Because advertising operates and reactos project spamming from absolutely nothing and keeps distancing itself. Because every so it is directly in the reactos team is working with affected.

I also mailed 3rd party sw devs in the past, 'cause i *don't not* consider it spam (check this out:
WikiPedia Spam Definitions wrote:
  • Unsolicited bulk e-mail (UBE)—unsolicited e-mail, sent in large quantities. This is the most popular definition.
  • Unsolicited commercial e-mail (UCE). This is the definition used by the FTC.
  • Any email message that is fraudulent.
  • Any email message where the sender’s identity is forged, or messages sent though unprotected SMTP servers.
so, the most correct spam definition is a mix of those... for me: An unsolicited fraudulent mail messege sent in large quantities where the sender’s identity is forged.)

Mailing a 3rd party (open source, but not only) sw developer(s) is more a "spread the voice" then spam, IMHO.

For example i used this "scheme" for inviting a developer:
"Hi there, I'm a user of your XYZ software that it's really cool, so I wanna invite you to test it under ReactOS (and port to Haiku) too.

*** optional, for closed source stuff *** I also encourage you to keep in consideration to release the source code under a GPL-compatible license (check out > http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/license-list.html): this will allow it to grow fastly and efficently, in other hand, you're knowledge will help the open source developers communities. ***

Addictional infos:
------------------
ReactOS is an Open Source (GPL) effort to develop a quality operating system that is compatible with Windows NT applications and drivers (based on WINE's code).

Haiku is an open source (MIT) effort to first recreate and then extend a most excellent, once-commercially-supported, media-oriented desktop computer operating system called the BeOS.

note: i haven't any relationship with the projects, i simply like them so I'm trying to support them.
This is not fraudulent nor massive and my identity isn't forged (it's unsolicited, but hey... I still have the freedom to keep in touch with a dev that published his mail address on the official website) so to me it's not spam.

BTW, as I already said before, an official "tell a friend" option should be enabled: this allows admins to manage both the invite message and the promotional campign better (no double mails, for example).

Your deduction is wrong. Choosing ONLY a common part of those definitions is not a proper logical process.

For example, there are several definitions of murder, but you cannot choose only their common part and say that rest isn't a murder.

In simpler words, unsolicited bulk email is still a SPAM, it doesnt necessarily got to have commerical or fraudulent character.

Such action, the OP is proposing, would cause a bad PR for our project. No one likes spam, no matter if its about viagra, Nigerian fund transfers or some opensource Operating System. If we were to be considered a spam topic, our reliability would plummet immediately. Please, do not even try to consider such option here. For the wellnes of our project, this topic should be closed down as soon as possible, with an appropriate moderator comment.

But if a software developer published his email to recieve "feedback, suggestions and comments" your position is wrong.

Of course collecting addresses of common peoples and invite them to use ROS is a deprecable thing, IMHO.

BTW, again, an official "tell-a-friend" (or, in our case, "invite-a-dev") option would prevent incorrect approaches and allows an admins management.

hy,

humm, that's a idea.. a "mail to frend" with a RSS writer whop write every
week what's new and how revisions it's give and so..., this one can make
with a mailing to a frend & into a rss-link-feed who can adding to the
reader ;) and anyone shold write anyday a rssnews.. a blog or a
little block ad rss-feed what it is finished, started, started to implementing
how manny persend be finish to can used and so.. easy a real
informationing for all users who have it in the rss-reader.. this one can
make more activity to speak about diffrent things ;) and show wat it is
actualy be on the developing to seeover the sholders of the developers to
can direckt give ideas to programming by side.. and can direckt posting a
code if it is by a problem....
By my side, i like it to read it in the reader and then i post it... if i become
a reply per mail, then i look in the Forum.. Hummm... and it is a idea to
have a Topic/Bord - RSS to add it to the rss-reader how Linuxforum like
this : http://f24.parsimony.net/forum54930/forum.rss

but this one with the Boards....
http://reactos.org/forum/design.rss

Design, Feedback, of all others in the Forum.

This is the best to see, were is a activity at moment.. oky, irc is nice and
realy fast, but in the forum have it more time to read and answer...
i think so... there for a "Mail to Frend Button" with a RSS-Link who write
it dayli .. but now mus find a user who write it every day a rss-feed/News
for be actual knowing what's at moment actual it is ...
And now, we need a News-writer-Geek ;)

But if a software developer published his email to recieve "feedback, suggestions and comments" your position is wrong.
Did you noticed the word "unsolicited" in my sentence that you quoted? Publishing your email to receive "feedback, suggestions and comments" on specific scope of interest (application, tool, topic) will make all emails that are "feedback, suggestions and comments" on the agreed topics, solicited. Mails with other topics in scope, again will be unsolicited and considered as SPAM. Is that clear now?
Of course collecting addresses of common peoples and invite them to use ROS is a deprecable thing, IMHO.
Glad you noticed. You should call it properly, btw, a SPAM.

@Blackcrack
Yes, we could use someone dedicated to ROS PR, like dealing with other sites, preparing info for newslines, keeping a regular blog on ReactOS development. Currently, only our newsletter can be considered as similar activity, followed by rare news publishing by Alexei. I`m afraid, its a matter of having a dedicated and trusted person to take care of this, sometimes its also a lack of news worthy of publishing. Development can be boring, you know...

Also, we really could use a "Inform friend about ReactOS" button on our website.
