If it's only for complete the missing features, the title is not good at all.
If you rename it like "Open source software to complete missing features" or something like that the misunderstood should be down.

I have found an application called Everything that is used for finding files instantly. It has worked pretty well for me. Here is a link: https://www.voidtools.com

If possible, it would awesome to incorporate it into the native search, which would give ReactOS an edge on Windows. Not necessarily the entire program, but the guts of it that make it as fast as it is.

I looked at the licensing and I would think that it would be okay for you guys to incorporate it in.

I have been trying to install ReactOS but have been dealing with USB issues. Then I will be able to try it out.

A. It is not open source.
B. It is not part of Windows that needs to be duplicated, the ReactOS devs will not bundle anything in the o/s just because it is good/useful.
C. It runs on Windows so it should run on ReactOS when NTFS is stable, so you can just install it yourself.

Well, the license is the biggest problem. Windows does use an integral local file search, but most don't like the indexer approach. If this were source code or .dlls, it might be more of use.

https://code.google.com/p/gdipp/
Of course would be great:
GDIPP is a replacement of Windows’ GDI text rendering that brings beautiful, anti-aliased text similar to that on OS X and Linux.

The project originated as the relaunch of GDI++. The source code of gdi++.dll project is too difficult to manage, so GDIPP is a new code-base. The goal of GDIPP project is to continue the development of gdi++, expand functionality, improve performance, provide better compatibility for the current and future Windows versions (potentially at the cost of removing compatibility for old Windows), create detailed and formal documentation, as well as tools to help using it.

GDIPP Project supports both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 7/Vista. You can install 32-bit and 64-bit components separately. The 32-bit components only renders 32-bit applications, while the 64-bit components only renders 64-bit applications in 64-bit Windows. Both components share the same setting file. GDIPP also works correctly on Windows XP and 2003. However, due to the significant difference in the system architectures, the rendering may be less stable and compatible. ezgdi is an alternative choice for a Windows text rendering replacement.

Anyway Google-code is down, so here's the actual mirror: https://github.com/CoolOppo/GDIPP

That sounds useful and a good addition to the thread, possibly the best yet.

Gecko 2.4 is optionally installed during ReactOS 2nd stage installation, and Mono 4.3.2 (not WINE modified Mono) is available via the RApps program manager.

They may not be the absolute latest versions of either package, but they are tested to work in ReactOS and are regularly updated while maintaining a certain level of functionality.

Did you allready contact them and ask for some contribution, maybe as another paid developer?

MS does also have a (semi-)free tool but this wouldn't be a big help I think.
tested out and quite easy to get started. no watermark, thanks for recommendation.

Well, I don't know whether "Dr. Memory: the memory debugger" is useful or not. Anyway, here we go:

Dr. Memory is a memory monitoring tool capable of identifying memory-related programming errors such as accesses of uninitialized memory, accesses to unaddressable memory (including outside of allocated heap units and heap underflow and overflow), accesses to freed memory, double frees, memory leaks, and (on Windows) handle leaks, GDI API usage errors, and accesses to un-reserved thread local storage slots.

Dr. Memory operates on unmodified application binaries running on Windows, Linux, Mac, or Android on commodity IA-32, AMD64, and ARM hardware.

Dr. Memory is released under an LGPL license and binary packages are available for download.

Dr. Memory is built on the DynamoRIO dynamic instrumentation tool plaform.

Ask Katayama Hirofumi MZ in ReactOS Chat, he is working on CJK support.

He has done such great work these past years. If ReactOS is looking to hire, I vote for him being one of the first.

In Windows and Reactos, only 1 keyboard layout is assigned to every keyboard plugged. So it's not possible to have 2 keyboards with different language layouts, like 1 keyboard for qwerty and 1 for russian. They're either all qwery or all russian. I didn't find a Windows program that directly allows to use several keyboards with different languages at the same time. It'd be very useful for doing text translations or transcripts. I have never used 2 keyboards myself but it's something that I'd like to do.

It's possible in Linux with xinput and setxkbmap, as shown here.
https://askubuntu.com/questions/337351/ ... ge-layouts

It's not the exact way of how Windows works, but if Reactos had something like that it would be better for people with 2 keyboards doing translations.
