Just I would ask a question to reactos team. I think Reactos is very close to be "usable" in a production environmet, even if it is not in beta stage,as now is much more reliable, stable... What I think is missing is not too much... It would be...
-users permission management.
-able to join a windows domain (samba4?).
-test compatibility with (more) windows xp/7/10 drivers.
-maybe being able to be as a little "windows server". With the implementation of essential services like dns,dhcp,etc.. that.. could be ported from Linux?
I think with these 3 things reactos could be a good replacement in many computers that Windows has left without security updates. There are thousands maybe millions of computers using xp windows 7 etc... because are running legacy software. Even windows 10, that next october 2025 will not have security updates anymore. Microsoft is leaving abandoned without security to its users/systems.
If those gaps could be solved could be a massive success for ReactOS in one year time.
ReactOS could be close to be used in production enviroments... missing only join domain, users, driverrs compatibility?

Very little can be ported directly from Linux. If you can port some code and it runs/functions on Windows then it may well work on ReactOS but otherwise just because something has been written for linux does not mean the code can be used under Windows in any fashion whatsoever.
The o/s is structured is very different from any Linux. At best the code might act as a helpful document to assist during a complete rewrite for ReactOS
None of the items you suggest are likely to be sorted within a year. The team is not looking to rush to replace a later version of Windows just because it is going out of support. As such it will remain an Alpha grade o/s, unsuitable for real life usage, so take great care before you attempt to 'use' it for anything other than testing.
On a more positive note, progress will be made but at the pace the devs determine and of course they will only work on the elements that they are interested in. That's the way it is I am afraid with community projects, so don't get your hopes up.
If you want to work on those items yourself or fund them through the hiring of developers then I suppose it could happen.

you may be able to use ReactOS in a Test production environment but it is not recommended if you are going to use ReactOS in a Test production environment I recommend
1, do not connect ReactOS to the internet
2, you will need to have backups of any data just in case of file system corruption
3, https://reactos.org/wiki/Debugging
there is a lot more that is needed before you can safely use ReactOS in a production environment

I understand all that but I think you don't value yourself (ReactOS) as you should.
I have seen ReactOS over years and is becoming more and more reliable, and more and more windows apps are able to run on ReactOS.
Yes I can have backups to avoid data corruption, is a good idea. But
-I think ReacOS is really close to be very useful to millions of people if...
--some of the most usual/general windows drivers could work...maybe the ones that are "generic".
--develop the users/permissions typical of a windows OS, like windows XP.
--able to join a domain... if Ubuntu and other Linux distributions can join a windows domain... maybe is not so difficult to do it.
--an antivirus...could be clamAV...
Considering Microsoft has left abandoned millions of systems without security since XP to windows 10.
Microsoft is creating a huge problem, as old machines cannot be upgraded to windows 11, and windows 10 will not have security updates next October 2025.

Yes, of course, we all know the above. but...
Who is going to do the work to achieve the above? The team does not work according to priorities defined by you - nor me, nor anyone. There is no project leader who determines what will be worked upon next. The 'team' is merely a group of individual developers that work on any task that interests them and is within their capabilities (or not as the case may be). There are a huge number of defined and undefined holes in ReactOS functionality that must be fixed. The result is a few people working on interesting things, essential things that must be fixed (or added) but not working to the plan you outline above. No amount of chat on the forum will change that structure.
Everything you list will ALL happen in time but simply NOT in the timescales you want.
If you want it, do feel free to employ developers to assist.
Lastly, please do NOT suggest anyone use ReactOS. The team is not ready to support any users and strongly advises anyone to avoid real world usage.

Don't get me wrong... I really appreciate the job you are doing that is amazing, even if it is alfa state, because is already very useful, at least to understand Windows OS, as microsoft windows is a closed system, a black box. Than you so much for the work you do. I understand ReactOS has very limited resources, in terms of money and people, when Microsoft has thousands of developers.
