I like imagesoft more in that case... it would be nice if the name had "image" or "photo" but I don't know will paint be primary funktion or will it be used as image editor more?

I like ReactPaint best, but I don't think any of these are very good:

ReactPaint (doesn't sound too good)
R-Paint (not either)
Painter (it sounds more like a profession than a computer program)
Imagesoft (sounds like a software company)

Unfortunately, I can't think of anything better.

how about something real borring like:

Reactos Raster Editor.

Raster Image Editor

Raster paint

I don't know. It's not easy to make up a good name. That's probably why most apps have similar names.(in the same field)

"ReactOS Image" or just "Image" or "Foto" (or "Photo") ... (like "Word", etc.)

End-user prefer simple names which symbolize the application.

Apple practice this with iMail, iTunes, etc. and MSFT with "Windows Mail" (in WinVista; aka Outlook Express).
KDE's and Gnome's application names sound childish and/or stupid. "Krita" vs. "Gimp" both Photoshop 'alternatives'.

Why not ROS Paint, ROS Calculator, etc ? This would symbolize what they do (every windows user knows Paint or the Calculator).

I think we should be consistent with our names and decide what "prefix" we should have on our bundeled software, I like "ROS" as a prefix, so we get ROSPaint, ROSCalc... and so on.

I agree. We already have ROS Explorer, why not make ROS Paint ;). By the way, what is the current name of the calc clone?

Besides: there are a few options added during the vote, but it's not possible to change your vote. Maybe we could include ROS Paint, and vote all over again? New topic? Remove poll and add it again?

I voted for ReactPaint, even if i don't like the MS-like software embedding politic (except for core-components, such as the GUI -> #E).
ROS should be just the os. Any other application should be a part of a distro (and 3rd party developed). :?

Paint is an important application which has been part of Windows since version 1 (called Paintbrush back then).
We need at least the apps which shipped with Win95 by default. Win95 had no Internet browser nor a media player, but apps like Paint, Clipboard-viewer, etc.
Almost everyone use Paint for simple picture editing. Our Paint variant will be more powerful and similar to Paint.Net, but it will support MDI in contrary to Paint.Net which has only a SDI interface and requiere the right version of the dotNet framework to work.

Somewhere above Paintr was suggested - but then I would prefer to copy the way of Apple completely: rPaint, rXY,...

It is short, easy etc.
