I'll be pleased to hear your results on the Dell Optiplex 3010. That is the same model as my test machine here that is currently testing another o/s, Kubuntu. When I have finished I aim to try ReactOS there too so any feedback on issues encountered will be greatly appreciated. The Optiplex 3010 is a surprisingly quick machine for such an old beast and it would do even better with ReactOS functioning on it.

I've had good results on my Toshiba Satellite M35X-S109 using 0.4.14.

Audio drivers don't work, and I can't even seem to find a proper video driver anywhere online, so I can't test that. It works well with the built in Ethernet port, and with the built in display driver, the resolution is fine for the monitor it has. Since installing 0.4.14, I have used it frequently and experienced few crashes and have not needed to reinstall it once.

I don't think there's much value in that info now. In the one case where I tried to use it the drivers mentioned have been superseded and the newer driver installers crash when you attempt to run them on an ROS machine.

The main factors in using ROS now are: 1. No USB. 2. Internet access is only via Eithernet. 3. Most application software cannot be installed.

Basically you can run Firefox and a few other older browsers none of which renders modern web sites entirely correctly. There is no video capability and -- I think? -- no sound.

Because I do a lot of web browsing and almost never want to see video I use ROS a lot. But that's about what it's capable of now. The only machine-dependencies that matter seem to be whether you can install it which seems to depend on the HDD arrangements: Some will, some won't. This is a Dell D610, it's fine. The D-410 and 420 I tried will not install it, nor will any machine using a SSD.

The only driver that can be installed on the D610 is the one for Eithernet. The rest of the installers all crash in a way that suggests to me that the ROS side of the interface isn't there. It's ALPHA. Such things are to be expected.

Short story: I don't think we're to the point where detailed info on machines that will run ReactOS is useful.

The system is in alpha state and the target is Windows Server 2003, this is completely normal only older browsers work (the support of W2003/XP is stopped for long time now).

The project, for the moment, put is effort in the virtualisation of the OS, the drivers for this goal are developed in first. For the other you can install an XP or 2003 server drivers but all features are not implemented and often there are BSoD.

Useful yes, but not the priority. The first objective is to make an OS stable and with all the missing features, the drivers will follow and if the compatibility are complete there are no need to make any drivers because the windows drivers would work.
