GitLab mirror
Anyone interested in doing and mantain a GitLab mirror with ReactOS source code and automatically keeping in sync to ReactOS GitHub repository?
There are 2 GitLab repositories with ReactOS source code:
https://gitlab.com/dj-tech/reactos
https://gitlab.com/kprkpr/ReactOS-CI
But the code is outdated. It must be updated usually keeping in sync to Github repo.
https://usersnap.com/blog/gitlab-github/
An doing the same in Sourceforge.net . Only when a new ReactOS version is released, ReactOS source code is updated in Sourceforge repo.
https://sourceforge.net/p/forge/documen ... 0Importer/
The idea is to have more (official or unofficial) mirrors.

Re: GitLab mirror
And guess what...
... Some Body thought he had the best idea in the world by creating a NON-OFFICIAL reactos GitLab repository by using nothing else but...... "reactos" as his user-name !!!!!!!!!!
https://gitlab.com/reactos/reactos
So that people started to complain on our mailing-list : https://www.reactos.org/pipermail/ros-d ... 18837.html but no-one answered who did that, yet.
Also, please remember that we have our OWN OFFICIAL mirror hosted by OURSELVES at https://git.reactos.org/ .

Re: GitLab mirror
We should complain there and take over the repo. We still own the name, so this should be not the problem!
ReactOS is still in alpha stage, meaning it is not feature-complete and is recommended only for evaluation and testing purposes.
If my post/reply offends or insults you, be sure that you know what sarcasm is...

I thought the point here was that we don't _want_ to own the repoEmuandCo wrote:We should complain there and take over the repo. We still own the name, so this should be not the problem!

Otherwise complain and demand takedown

What a WTF? coicidence! Don`t look at me.hbelusca wrote:. Some Body thought he had the best idea in the world by creating a NON-OFFICIAL reactos GitLab repository by using nothing else but...... "reactos" as his user-name !!!!!
https://gitlab.com/reactos/reactos .
I did not create a GitLab account yet.
I just suggest unofficial mirrors for anyone who want to help (with his/her name or alias of course). And official if ReactOS devs consider to do it.
ReactOS source code (only when a new version is released) is also available (outdated) in Sourceforge.net , so I thought why not to be available in GitLab too?
Could this fake repo be considered as an identity supplantation of ReactOS project?

Re: GitLab mirror
The thing is, the guy can't simply clone a repository of something and then build a mirror for it without the approval consent of the responsible of the said repository. This goes the same for ReactOS.Rosh wrote:Could this fake repo be considered as an identity supplantation of ReactOS project?
If something goes wrong with that mirror then the blame goes, for surely, to the ReactOS Team which in reality the team has no responsibility nor control of the mirror. Whoever did this must delete it immediately.

Those who do not defend their trademarks, lose their trademarks.

Re: GitLab mirror
Anyone with a GitLab account could order or demand this user to delete inmediately this repo?Whoever did this must delete it immediately.
Or use GitLab legal reports or something like it to report this repo?
Here some legal info in GitLab:

What about these repositories? There are 2 GitLab repositories with ReactOS source code:
https://gitlab.com/dj-tech/reactos
https://gitlab.com/kprkpr/ReactOS-CI
But the code is outdated. It must be updated usually keeping in sync to Github repo.
Re: GitLab mirror
They are private clones, completely permissible under the GPL.Rosh wrote:What about these repositories? There are 2 GitLab repositories with ReactOS source code:

The only problem with the other repo is the user name "reactos" which makes it appear official and appears to be a trademark violation.

Anyone from ReactOS project has made a formal request?

There is no copyright infringement there, only trademark infringement, so that process isn't applicable.
Also before contacting GitLab we should contact the person using that user name, they may be willing to give it up.
