view real memory consumption

Post by sazearte »

Hello i tested reactos in virtualbox, i view in taskmgr.exe a memory consumption of reactos. I disable swap for my all tests.

But i think that value indicated is fault, for example i load reactos with 200mb of memory and i run firefox 49, firefox use only 52mo of ram
In windows, firefox 49 use more 150mo of ram

If i load reactos os with only 150mo of memory, if i run firefox reactos freeze (maybe reactos have no more memory)

How can i vie real memory utilisation in reactos ?
thanks for advance for your help

Nope, the value is very right. But ReactOS does not use a pagefile yet to throw needed RAM onto your HDD. So if you fill your RAM, you are done.
ReactOS is still in alpha stage, meaning it is not feature-complete and is recommended only for evaluation and testing purposes.

When I activate the swap (pagefile) I also have the same behavior
Why don't reactos fill the swap instead of crashing ?

thanks for advance for your answer

Swapping is not implemented. Or actually it kind of is, but it's not at all stable.
