Is it possible to develop enough to installing ReactOS on an ext4 filesystem?
Are journal features for ext3 and the rest of the features needed for ext4 functionality being developing or implementing
in ReactOS?
Is it implementing in recent NTFS support?
Is it one of priority to the project and/or comunity?

You can read here about the filesystems: https://www.reactos.org/wiki/File_Systems

This page is quite old and needs to be partially replaced.ROCKNROLLKID wrote:You can read here about the filesystems: https://www.reactos.org/wiki/File_Systems
ATM ReactOS supports EXT2/3 read/write support, but not EXT4. Also, formatting disk drives with a filesystem another than FAT16/32 is not implemented.

Re: Installing ReactOS on an ext4 filesystem
Short answer - we can't install ATM.
Long answer. I have shared patches with other devs to make it work. With my patches it is passing first stage and rebooting and starting loading the OS past freeldr!
So all the bits are in place, but... ROS CC/MM is not ready to handle some filesystem features that are needed by the extX driver to successfully boot. Of course some other problems also might stand in the way, but for now it looks like the only and the biggest problem.
So soon it might be possible... Just be patient...

Re: Installing ReactOS on an ext4 filesystem
Isn't the memory Manager mostly done? Just need to do virtual memory and work out some bugs?
Re: Installing ReactOS on an ext4 filesystem
ext4 can be mounted as ext3 if no extents are present and ext2/3 can be mounted as ext4.ATM ReactOS supports EXT2/3 read/write support, but not EXT4. Also, formatting disk drives with a filesystem another than FAT16/32 is not implemented.
