Hi, I want to know why versions 0.4.2 and 0.4.1 Source Code of ReactOS is not available to download
in Sourceforge.net as version 0.4.0 has?

'ReactOS-0.4.2-src.zip' ?

And will the source code of version 0.4.3 be released?
('ReactOS-0.4.3-src.zip')

I think the team is very busy and they had not time to release source code as a zip file in sourceforge...

You can download using tortoise svn https://tortoisesvn.net/ and checkout the two tags/branches:

- 0.4.1 https://svn.reactos.org/reactos/tags/Re ... 1/reactos/

- 0.4.2 https://svn.reactos.org/reactos/branche ... 2/reactos/

I don't know if anyone will release 0.4.3 source code as a zip

We don't do that anymore because anyone can download it via SVN.

Well I understand, but I expect that ReactOS source code will be released regularity as a .7z or .zip format
since I visited the SVN pages but I could not download all the code in a compressed archiver.

Could you show ,if there is, the way with screenshots?

Sorry if this sounds a bit harsh, but if you expect something, then do it yourself! SVN is compressed @ download time, so use it or you might have a problem.

@EmuandCo : Is there any official announcement (e.g. from Ziliang...) that we do not provide any compressed source archive on Sourceforge anymore? Or is it just because the release engineers happen to forget to make this archive since ROS 0.4.1/2 ?

I thought it was because everyone can use an SVN client (especially since it comes with RosBE ).

No official announcement at all, just a bit pissed and feeling personally attacked because of demands even if a solution was provided.

Personally, I always had problems with both Git and SVN, because they are very unstable and unreliable on a cellular connection due to large amount of connections and ping-backs they generate (especially if your ping is over 2 seconds). This is the main purpose of compressed archives - to transfer everything in one chunk instead of downloading each source file individually.

If you serve the compiled iso images, why not do the same for source code? It can be automated even easier than the iso image building.

Don't feel attacked, I don't think his request was mean that way.

People do have raised expectations that sources will be kept up to date wherever they are indicated as being available. Sometimes it might be better to pull some sources that we do not plan to update rather than view them as an additional chore. You don't need additional unnecessary workload.

Now version 0.4.5 source code is available to download from sourceforge.net again
We expect that new version´s code will be released too.

And ReactOS preinstalled on QEMU,VMWARE and VirtualBox files are again available.
