Hi All,
According to http://mok.lvcm.com/cgi-bin/reactos/ros ... entChanges there are reports the soundcard driver is working.
Will this mean we will soon have sound, or will have to wait for directx sound before this works?
It doesnt seem to work for me, what am i missing?

The sound works with right drv as wiki say.
but I got dsound working in windows but I need to figout how to get it working on ros. it is matter some reg settings problem. And you can run audio progarm that does not need directx support. rember dsound.dll are one of many audio dll of directx. ReactOS does have a audio drv for soundbaster it is not working yet. and it also many part of the sound system does not yet supports in reactos.

directx dsound are one part that most apps need.
the other native interface you talk about are very few apps. are being use. Most sound apps need dsound today. But older apps that does not need dsound (directx audio) should work in ros. To gain most apps working with sound dsound is one of the dll that need.

Actually it's WinMM.dll. MMSystem.dll is 16bit (in the Win16 meaning) sound library.
