The problem with the 2nd

Post by theuserbl »

The most news sides I know, reports about the 1st ReactOS campaign (that on Kickstarter)

http://www.golem.de/news/thorium-core-k ... 04056.html

but not about the 2nd ReactOS campaign (that on Indiegogo).

I think, it is the problem to be the 2nd. News sides only reports about the first try. Not about all after them. :(

True, which was why I said it would be a good idea to wait before going for another one. There is no doubt one has a bit of a backlash if you make two campaigns shortly after eachother. That said, I think, with the list we made of PR stuff (of vicamaral), we're now better prepared, and can also contact new news-outlets, which didn't report on the earlier project, because they were not contacted. The nec plus ultra would be getting a mention in slashdot, or something similarly big. Once you're on there, mouth to mouth (and almost all other IT-news sites) take the story over. (Is someone trying to get it on slashdot?)

Also, the total amount is far more reasonable, and the enthusiasm for it from the community is much bigger too, due to the project this time being under the well-known name of (non-profit/non-commercial) ROS, and the chance of far more involvement towards the public/user-base.

As far as I can see, it's much going much more strongly too. I think it has good chances of actually getting to the goal.
