quanitiy of ROS user accounts rising ?

Post by wildschwein »

there are noticeable more and more posts from new users.

this chart would be interessting: y-axis: quantity of useracounts, x-axis: time in half-year-steps ?

even some "naked" figures: "year|useraccounts" would be interessting.

Perhaps with so many being frustrated with what is already out there, they are looking for an alternative that does not cost an arm and a leg? 8-)

I agree, it could be good PR. :ugeek:

As long as it isn't spammers. While quantity can be a good sign, quality is even better, so we will see.

So, vicmarcal, can you provide some user figures ?

ammount of user accounts: e.g. form 2007, 2010, and now.

What would you do if they do not actually rise?

What would you do if the "active" accounts decrease? (Particularly, those who "participate" in our community.)

That is always the tricky part if you try to use data as an advertisement.

When we have a stable OS
the quality will rise
lots of ppl are still using XP
but the support on xp is dead......so they will search for an alternative which will lead to reactos
I noticed that there is no mass email is being sent when an new version is released
(like when the 0.3.15 was released I didnt get an email saying we are pleased to announce to you our new version of reactos is released )
that might help giving registered users attention
time will and stable release will give us new and active users

I agree with Z98. I just checked my inbox, and I received the email he linked back in May. It sounds to me like you need to make sure you're on the email list. Head over to http://reactos.org/community/mailing-lists and subscribe to the Announcement List.

Because registering in the forums doesn't ever implied you wanted to subscribe to a mail list. There are people who get severely annoyed by mail lists (seriously, I've met a few ones).

That's all I found.
