Laptops installing/running Reactos from bootcd
This is a start at finding out if any laptops will run Reactos bootcd yet, "out of the box". Just put the cd in and boot into setup and install to a working desktop.
Please do not use this place for anything else, or it will become too cluttered.
State Make, Model, Revision build of Reactos, Motherboard chipset (if known, useful for Alter author of uniata) and any settings that had to be changed from default during setup.
We hope that the list will eventually grow.
Dell Latitude 110L/R57118/Intel 910GML/Change default to Standard Uniprocessor in 1st stage setup.
Compaq Presario 1200-XL302/All/Via Pro133 chipset/default.

Re: Laptops installing/running Reactos from bootcd
If possible, can you also provide the IDE/SATA/AHCI controller name and info if the hdd was properly detected? The data will be passed to alter, creator of Uniata, for his reference of controllers working.
Re: Laptops installing/running Reactos from bootcd
Thanks to wojo664 I can now install.
His suggestion that worked was to select Standard Uniprocessor during first stage installation setup.
I hope it will work for lots of others as well.
Dell Latitude 110L Reactos R57118.
Edit:
HWiNFO32 returns motherboard chipset as Intel 910GML

Re: Laptops installing/running Reactos from bootcd
AIDA32 has been tested and works, so I'm pretty sure these have big chances to work too

Re: Laptops installing/running Reactos from bootcd
I wrote "Aida32 returns motherboard chipset as unknown." as information for Haos (see second post).
To keep this subject free from clutter, can you delete your posts please, then I will delete this also.
Sorry for the confusion.

There really isn't a reason to delete the posts.

He was asking about the possibility of having "recognizing device apps" working in ReactOS.kayedee wrote:I wrote "Aida32 returns motherboard chipset as unknown." as information for Haos (see second post).

Aida32 didnt recognize your chipset(maybe Aida32 is outdated) but Aida recognizes a lot of devices without problems and overall Reactos shows the devices to these apps in a compatible way so there are big chances for these apps to success as Reactos supports this feature. WOW my English sucks badly.
Just curious, does Aida32 report correctly the chipset under Windows?or is it not recognized either?
Re: Laptops installing/running Reactos from bootcd
My old Compaq Presario 1200-XL302 has always been able to run ROS without problems. I believe it's a Via Pro133 chipset.
Re: Laptops installing/running Reactos from bootcd
Aida32 was run under WinXP on the Dell Latitude 110L, before installing Reactos and returned chipset as not known.
Since now being able to install Reactos, I have tried these three applications on the same machine and result in the following:
Aida32 crash on setup.
Speccy ditto.
HWiNFO32 Installs without issue, partially works, all information returned with summary, no information for any device in tree in left hand column.
