What happened to ReactOS 0.3.0 ?

I am just going nuts overhere. Am I living in the Twilightzone?

I have some vivid remembrance of reactOS 0.3.0 being launch, but somehow the current version seems to be 0.2.8 and I can't seem to find any link to articles about the 0.3.0 version, nor why it has been withdrawn.

Please help me out, what happened to ReactOS 0.3.0? Has it been released already or am I just dreaming?

ros 030 is still under development but already available as a trunk which is all the time changing and rebuild. sorry if some expressions doesn`t fit but I am German and not very familiar with such "technical" vocabulary.

After .2.6, .3.0 was supposed to be released first, but with the .2.x branch being not quite dead yet, .2.7 and ultimately .2.8 were released. These latter two releases do contain quite a bit of code which will also be in 0.3.0, though mostly bugfixes. AFAIK all big, new functions (new or improvements) related to networking, USB, etc. will be in .3.0. The latter having been under development (in SVN) for quite a while now.

On a sidenote, welcome to the X-zone. You'll soon be escorted to your new place of residence ^_-

0.3.0 has been due every release since 0.2.5 which was meant to be the last in the 0.2.* saga.

However the main pre-requisit for 0.3.0 is networking support, which has been delayed, hence so has 0.3.0.

The releases after 0.2.5 have been put out because significant progress has been made in other areas, but until networking support is ready, the 0.2.* line will continue to increment.

I would imagine there will also be a 0.2.9 release before networking is ready.

GED and all others, thanks for you're explanation.
I don't know where the silly idea came from (maybe I worked to much lately), but I had already planned to take it easy the couple of days and do some fun things like testing the network system of version 0.3.0... From that mistake it was easy to believe that 0.3.0 had been released.
Sorry, I got you all a little worked up... :)

Not silly or strange...

Well, to calm down your sences I can tell you we have had plans to release 0.3 since december last year, and some of us are talking about the 0.3SVN development release as it was the actual 0.3 release while it really is just a "Nightly build" or "the 0.3 so far version"of the development. Thus it isn't strange that some gets the impression 0.3 is already out. Probably partly a missunderstanding and a lack of calrity on our account.
