Re: EPIC WIN! VNC part 2

Post by oldman »

Some of you will be amused by some of these screenshots!
This time it is the other way around.
Windows XP is the server (tightVNC) and Ros is the listener (UltraVNC).

And the final humiliation!

Yes, I did shut down Windows from Ros!

At the end of the session Ros was a bit buggy and I failed to save a screenshot of the XP shutdown screen, but I had tried to establish a broken connection, instead of shutting down and re-starting VNC on Ros.
Please keep the Windows classic 9x/2000 look and feel.
The layman's guides - debugging - bug reporting - compiling - ISO remaster.
They may help you with a problem, so do have a look at them.

Just think of ReactOS as the XP beta, Whistler.

Lotus SmartSuite installs in bootcd-63897-dbg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OKAY, there are still problems, graphics are iffy, and the installer put FastSite when I told it not to... And SmartCenter did not light up on startup--there should be a bar across the top or bottom of the screen...

Is there something I need to know about images here? I can only get it to open in a new tab...

(@vicmarcal - The link you put in was generating 404s, thank you for trying, but I've replaced the original link. It is definitely odd that DropBox won't honour a post link...)

But things work!

Gordon.

Hi Gordon,
Dropbox doesn't let you to share the preview of an image using the https://www.dropbox.com/s/g6chxf8g1yql5 ... InROS2.png (yes, it's odd), but you can use the preview source file: https://photos-1.dropbox.com/t/0/AAD7u- ... _K4GkwlcxU .
I'd have used the path to the original image, but since the screenshot has a big resolution(size) it'd have kill the shape of the forum thread.

Thanks for sharing!!

Hi Victor,
the game runs very smoothly with software rendering (direct3d mode can be chosen but crashes the game...) and with minor glitches: there is something wrong with the color palette (btw i run the game with VBOX drivers) and the sound does not seem to work (installed AC97 drivers, logon sound works..), but i did only superficial tests.
Setup works, i mean, you can install full game from cd but all the dialogs are wrong and you can't customize anything, so it installs all correctly only by luck ;)
