Great news!
After the lot of several improvements and fixes from Jerome Gardou (zefklop) in the memory manager (MM) and cache controller (CC), NTFS driver from Windows XP/2003 became work much more stable! In particular, now it is possible to copy (very) large files on NTFS partitions, even those that have larger size than the amount of RAM! For example, I managed to copy a self-expanding archive weighing 2.8 GB (!) (3DSMAX 2013 offline Installer) on 10 GB NTFS partition with 2.0 GB of RAM allocated to VM (see screenshot). The file has been copied successfully from the shared directory, without any BSODs and asserts! For comparison, earlier (2 months ago), copying any file of more than 900 MB size immediately caused BSOD (or sometimes a lot of assertions). Now - quite another thing!
IMPORTANT! For the correct working of this driver, as earlier, it is badly required to apply my PR #3400 (still not merged yet) and ThFabba's patch from CORE-10147. Without this, the driver will not work.

Very impressive, indeed as it proves the MM changes are really beneficial and working. We just need our own NTFS now!

That is promising. It will be also nice to test stability by extracting and copying a lot of small files (ReactOS source repo etc.) and running multiple copy operations in parallel.

Needs hidclass.sys, hidparse.sys, hid.dll and dinput/dinput8.dll from Windows 2003.
For control panel applet you will also need joy.cpl and gcdef.dll (you also need msvcp60/mfc42/mfc42u for these and register gcdef using regsvr32).

I think that is a partial win rather than an Epic Win mostly because it involves a lot of actual Win.

This seems very good to me, that Reactos respects the user's pre-installed systems, I don't know if it will detect previous installations of Windows.

I have dual booted in the past I think it was windows 98se and ReactOS or it may have been windows XP installed to fat32 and ReactOS I think it was 2x release of ReactOS but I do not remember

you can dual boot windows XP and React OS i tested that a long time ago i do not remember the build i tested but i do remember i needed to use the built in graphics card React OS crashed if i was using my Nvidia ** graphics card i think i installed it to the same partition window XP was installed to that was formatted to fat32

Yeah! Microsoft Net Framework 3.0 SP2/3.5 SP1 from this addon: http://files.simplix.ks.ua/DotNetPlus.rar installs and works correctly in ReactOS, unlike official MS installers, which have issues with installation. Also 1.1 SP1 version from there installs successfully unlike version 1.1 from Rapps. Even MS Net Framework Setup Verification tool, which can be downloaded here: https://msdnshared.blob.core.windows.ne ... er_new.zip, successfully verifies Net Frameworks installation. Moreover, I could launch some of my .NET3.x apps in ReactOS, although not all.
For installation, just extract DNF30 and DNF35 folders from DotNetPlus.rar\DotNetPlus\Files\ForceCopy\SVCPACK\DotNet.exe\$WINDIR\Temp\DotNetSIM\dotnet113540c.7z and launch DNF30\Netfx30a_x86.msi and DNF35\Netfx35a_x86.msi for installing NF 3.0 SP2 and NF 3.5 SP1 accordingly. Same is for DNF11\Netfx11a_x86.msi. Before this, install NF 2.0 SP2 version also, since 3.0 SP2 And 3.5 SP1 depend on 2.0 SP2. It may be version from Rapps or from this pack, but in second case you also need to install MS Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable from Rapps before NF installation.

It works good enough to compile and work with projects, unlike VS 2010 which is almost unusable. However there are few severe problems:

• Visual C++ project wizard can't create projects, you can only open and work with already created projects.
• Visual Studio debugger doesn't work, you can't run programs with it.
• ReactOS can't find debug runtimes, so you can't run dynamic debug builds of your programs.
• Visual Studio crashes when you attempt to edit some resources in your projects (Dialog Boxes).
• Sometimes, ReactOS will bugcheck after closing Visual Studio and trying to shutdown or reboot.

And there might be more, but I didn't notice anything else so far. Still it works way better than ever before.
