Dual boot with ReactOS on a slave hard drive.

Post by Redefined Horizons »

I'm fairly new to Linux, and I am very interested in ReactOS.

I would like to dual-boot ReactOS with my Debian box, but I need to put ReactOS on a second, slave hard drive.

If I partition the second drive as FAT32, will the installer for ReactOS allow me to choose which drive it installs ReactOS on?

How do I configure GRUB to boot ReactOS from the second hard drive, if this is possible?

Thanks very much for any information.

You might want to check out: http://www.reactos.org/wiki/index.php/H ... _from_GRUB.

also, im not sure about ReactOS running of a slave HDD but Windows needs some little tweaks in GRUB so that it thinks its the first HDD. If you run into any problems try adding this to your config.

Code: Select all

map (hd0,0) (hd1,0)
map (hd1,0) (hd0,0)
