There may actually be some people who have subscribed the Ros-annouce mailing list, so that they dont have to poll the current status of ReactOS every month. Some of these people may not know about releases 0.2.6, 0.2.7 and 0.2.8 at all
I only skim read his post first time round and didn't realise he'd already looked at the archives.
I didn't look myself at the time, but looking now it's pretty obvious that no one uses it as it hasn't recieved a post since January.
As ReactOS is getting more publicity now, I would think the list is a bit pointless. All major (and minor) announcments are easily accessable from various places ..... including our news section and newsletter. Anyone with
an interest in the project will generally follow these.
I think a mail should be sent to ros-announce. This is a nice way for people that don't really want to keep track of the project and still want to be informed when a new release is done.
