What can an end user expect from 0.28?

Post by rshol »

Read the change log and it didn't mean a thing to me. What will .28 do? Can I install it on my laptop and load drivers for a wireless NIC? Can I use NTFS partitions? EXT3? Rieser? or am I stuck with DOS32? Will Mozilla/Firebird run? OOo 2.0? Or should I wait for a later release?

Thanks and keep up the good work. I am anxiously awaiting an end user freindly release.

I'm not the most qualified to answer this, but here it is anyway.
You can probably install it on your laptop. I have done so before, but I doubt your wireless will work.

> Can I use NTFS partitions? EXT3? Rieser?
Only FAT based files systems for writing currently.

>Will Mozilla/Firebird run?
don't think so.

> OOo 2.0?
I have seen screen shots of OpenOffice running.

> Or should I wait for a later release?
If you want to use this as a primary OS, I would wait.

Thanks very much. I'll keep waiting. This is the second windows replacement I've been rooting for, the first was Petros which never got very far. ReactOS has gone much further seems to have gotten stronger over the last year or so.

Glad to see you're interested in ReactOS.
To further clarify, i know that OOo 1.1.x is working, and I think 2.0 can work if you get around the install or something.
