Two points:
One. When trying to create an account one is allowed to fill in the entire form (type password *twice* ) before being told the name is unavailable. Could that not be checked immediately? (Especially since one now has to type the password twice more.)
Two. The authorization email contains the password in clear. Should newbies not be advised of this? Perhaps: "You should consider this a temporary password, and change it when you first log on."
Setting up internet accounts seems unneccessarily complex and repetetive--especially for pre-Gen-Xers.

Thank you for your feedback. We'll look into the usability of that form and see if it can be improved.
