Maybe there is no need for a major layout change? The site structure is good enough, imho.

Maybe it's enough to do some minor facelift, like this?

As I understood there is also need for a landing page. Here are some ideas:

The last one needs to be with proper logo, slogan, etc.

There have been some really good submissions now so I think this will be my last as I don't think I can compete. It's just nice to have some options to compare against. I've taken note of comments on my earlier design and hopefully this new design will be both a completely new theme, yet still easy to navigate.

color scheme should be compatible with the ReactOS logo and the logo included into the design.
I don't think dark is very compatible with the logo.

Why not? Black combines with all

I have a question. Why you aren't using original ReactOS logo? Almost everyone doesn't use original logo. Why? Is it bad? I like original logo. Can anyone tell me what is wrong with it

The problem is that the ReactOS logo currently only includes 3 colours: blue, black and white. It's really hard to create a new theme for the site when you have to keep a very similar colour scheme. I think black does work with the existing logo and I've seen it implemented on many professional websites successfully. There's no reason though that this suggestion couldn't be modified to use a white background and blue theme for the content. I believe the rules state that any website submissions may be subject to modification.

What kind of combination where you thinking of?

I did use the original ReactOS logo. I just don't have access to the original image files so have to cut and paste from the website, hence it looking a bit rough around the edges. Just as Microsoft's logo is widely recognised and shouldn't be changed, so is the same for ReactOS and I've stuck to that. I'm sure other people have come across the same problem as me in not having access to the original logo files though. This would explain why the original logo does not always appear in some of these proposals.

The only design that caught my eye was http://yenowicz.wz.cz/ros/. However it's not good enough yet. Try improving it further.
