Would Email activation be helpful with this?

No, you can register new email addresses within few minutes.

I don't like the login in Wiki. It isn't helpful, and the numbers of edits from "normal" persons is decreased (I have never written anything since I must register in Wiki)... Please turn this of!

What about one of those "type the number shown in the graphic" things?

That would be nice :D Is that technically possible and easy to implement?

Yeah, I agree. I wish people would stop using email activations, because they could just register with a new address. If you ban free email addresses, it would probably make people not want to register at all.

It's probably not very helpful, because it only prevents automated registrations.

Some devs were thinking about seting that only registered users can edit the wiki.
Where do you want ReactOS to go today ?

You're right. But banning all free email addresses isn't an option. It not only makes people not want to register, it even makes it impossible for many people (me too I only have a free email address).
btw. Hydrogenaudio is doing this, and I already wanted to register there, however I couldn't due to this. It would be the worst which could happen to the wiki.

Right, I think many attacks are from people and not only from spambots or so.

I also would suggest to use additional apache auth on phpbb /admin zone, latest phpbb is not immune to privilege escalation exploit, but putting an additional login in apache blocked the access. Right now I dunno what is the exploit but blocking /admin would be enough for a lot of these exploits
