Hello,
i am a .net developer and i think about adding a new project as time pass, i have not decided if i actually take up a new project and if it would be reactos.
I did read on the site: https://reactos.org/developing
However there is one little piece missing:
Where to start. As example for reactos applications:
Can someone tell what kind of app is missing what would you need.
As example for the shell:
Can someone tell what features are missing what do you plan to tackle next.
Is there a page where things that are being worked and things that should be worked on next are mapped?
And to improve the site: It would be good to link it there.
Also on clicking on the icons that appear some links lead to not found.

Re: New developers integrating structure
Step 0 is to download ReactOS source and explore it by yourself; try to run ReactOS (you will definitively see what's missing and buggy in it); and try to compile it using the tools, as explained in the wiki.
Then, you can look at an interesting "starter-project" in your list of bug reports: https://jira.reactos.org/issues/?jql=la ... er-project
Please remember, that ReactOS is primarily developed in C language, with some C++ for implementing the shell.

i looked it through. This are mainly bug reports.
Sorry to say that but i am not so much interested in hunting bugs i would rather write something new.
Now you say this are "starter-projects" those entrys do look far away from small groups trying to create a new feature which is more or less what i meant.
I believe it would be very beneficial to coordinate the coding effort in groups and notes.
One benefit would be certainly that you write less duplicate code or even duplicate program just because someone who is new or not new does not know someone else did this already. In some way it would be a pathfinding mechanism for devs with the notes helping to see what is there and other notes to see what is missing.

You can also have a look at the missing features of ReactOS: https://reactos.org/wiki/Missing_ReactOS_Functionality .

Or you could first help to maintain and to improve our website by your point of view as a developer.
