ReactOS Demo with v86 on ReactOS Internet Site

Post by ercanersoy »

I had written a new topic of ReactOS Demo previously. I have started new topic.

v86 emulator is great emulation software. I tested v86 afterwards.

I think ReactOS Demo with v86 is great.

ReactOS with v86 has an advantages. These advantages:
  • People don't need set a emulator for knowing ReactOS. A few clicks are easy for newbies.
  • People don't need download a file for trying new features of ReactOS.
  • Trying ReactOS on a smartphone or a tablet computer easily.
So, ReactOS can be reached more people.

Could ReactOS Demo on ReactOS Internet Site via v86?

v86 may be slow. But, v86 can be forked. Also, "The demo is slow than real hardware and native emulation softwares." message can be given to user at starting emulation.

Here's a link to the previous discussion: https://www.reactos.org/forum/viewtopic ... 9&p=133843
And here's another, more recent discussion of the same thing: https://www.reactos.org/forum/viewtopic ... 2&p=131669

However, as cool as v86 is, I think it may be more worthwhile to somehow partner with the folks at https://distrotest.net.
Their VM is pretty good compared to the v86 versions I threw onto my website; check it out here: https://distrotest.net/ReactOS/0.4.9

The advantage they have is that it's a proper QEMU VM that you connect to via VNC rather than running it locally in your browser. It can use more RAM and the speed of the emulation/virtualization is much better, all without slowing down your own PC.
