Hi, presentation Again.

Post by jorge1987 » Thu Nov 17, 2011 7:21 pm

Good morning everyone.

My name is Jorge Abreu, I'm from Buenos Aires, Argentina. (Yes, I love Soccer, and my favorite team is Club Atletico Velez Sarsfield)

I discovered the ReactOS project in 2005, when I was just 17 years, and was in high school. At that time I was studying programming in Pascal (I love Lazarus), and knew little to nothing about operating systems.

Today I have 24 years and study at the University UTN (National Techonological University). I have learned C and C++, as well ASM lesser extent. I learned about the management of IPCs, Signals, Semaphores, Files, Fork, Threads. Etc...

I have a good understanding of English, so I feel much more mature to start seeing how I can help in the project.

I hope to find something simple to start, and collaborate with you.

A big hello to everyone.
Jorge Abreu.

Hello and thanks for you interest :)

You can start very simple by confirming bugs or see bugs with "New" status and check if you can fix this by sending patch :)

Bienvenido Jorge,

IRC provides a faster way to answer all the doubts related to developing. You can find us in the Freenode network in the #reactos, #reactos-dev, and #reactos-es channels.
You can use the webchat.freenode.net website to connect through the WebBrowser. Or you can even install the IRC Chatzilla plugin.
Hope to see you soon there!
Best regards!

I have been able to install and run Lazarus in ROS, but I cannot programme in pascal, so I have not tested it.
I think that it does not do much beyond opening up the IDE. So may I suggest that you use your experience and see how far you can get with Lazarus.

I'm going to do that!

I remember one time, maybe a few years ago, I try to install Delphi 6 and Fails.

But, now I'm gonna try to use Lazarus, and I'm going to make a post to show you what I get.

Best Regards!

PD: My english is so bad... I think I'm doing something wrong using to much "I'm going".

Wow, whatever happened to him? I remember some argument amongst the developers, but I only ever remember the name just sort of disappearing.

Here is a *very* easy way to try a recent Free Pascal and fpGUI that does work in ReactOS:

ReactOS is still in alpha stage, meaning it is not feature-complete and is recommended only for evaluation and testing purposes.
