This is the overview page of Project VGA, a project which aims to develop a Low Budget, Open Source, VGA Compatible video card. Currently we're trying to be as open as we can - our goal is that you could build the card at home (and understand it) if you wanted to. Hopefully you'll be able to buy one though within a few months for under 200 euro from us! And did we mention it was reprogrammable? If you ever dreamed of playing with an FPGA, or building your own processor, this is the card you want!
If you're looking for the license everything is released under the "Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 3.0 Unported License" for now. In other words; we're aiming for GPL, but without you turning it into a commercial product. That's just because we're talking about hardware designs here, not software. We might change it in the future though - we haven't given it much thought yet.

Another interesting project is: http://wiki.opengraphics.org/tiki-index.php
They are also making opensource/openhardware graphics card. At the moment they are developing development board so that they could make the final card with the help of it.

Maybe that style of writing tipped off GreatLord into thinking that you were involved.betaluva wrote:our goal [...] we're aiming for GPL [...] we're talking [...] We might [...] we haven't [...]
Cool otherwise. But... VGA? 200 Euros?!?! Ah, the price of open source... :/
