OS-related humor

Post by PurpleGurl »

There was a humor thread before, but it got locked. I guess it was because the humor there started to develop poor taste. Besides, I understand this is not a chit-chat forum according to the rules. However, it might work if it is at least tangentially related and sexual innuendos are left out.

---
I just cannot help but remember what I read earlier about the "device object power extension" in the logs. The comments in the code are even funnier when taken out of context.

110 /* If the device already has the dope, return it */ (So the dope dealer brought it?)
111 DeviceExtension = IoGetDevObjExtension(DeviceObject);

114 /* no dope */ (Too bad. It would be nice to get high.)
115 return;

121 /* Get dope from device */ (Dope in a vending machine?)

133 /* Now remove dope from device object */

142 /* Free dope */ (Who doesn't want free dope?)

For some reason, I'm not laughing. ;-)

I still cant get over the video done using the Wikipedia entry for ReactOS. The software reader they used to convert text to audio called this "Reektose."

110%, I'm impressed. So not only does ReactOS do what you want, it also reads your mind and beats you to what you were going to tell it to do. ;-)

The best "support"-joke:

Support: Press Control, Alt, P on your keyboard.
User (angry): I'm not gonna do that!!!

Of course, 2nd is famous "My cup-holder doesn't work!"

Cup holder, LOL! I remember that one. It turned out to be a CD ROM drive. That is not as bad as the woman complaining that her IBM PS/1 was not reading floppies. The tech explained how to insert floppies and all that. Finally, he had her to tell him what her routine was. She explained how she booted the machine and all. Then she said, "I carefully fold the diskette in half like you are supposed to, and then I insert it." He asked why she folded the diskette, and she said it was the only way it would fit.

I read of a tech support getting a call about the floppy disk would no longer be readable after he put a labeled it. It turned out that the 'label' was him putting the floppy disk into a typewriter to label it. :lol:

While speaking of floppies, someone told me someone had trimmed one to fit the drive. It was sad when the tech guy for the school or wherever had to tell the girl that there was no way to recover her data.
