Re: SourceForge Nomination

The sf site seems to be undergoing some maintenance or something and is temporarily down (if you observe they also say .. "Logging in is disabled")
They should be back up soon i guess

Re: HDD install

Umm .. it isnt that easy.. you don't get a setup file as such .. But it is possible .. (will be difficult but should be possible..) You'd have to copy all the ReactOS base files with the proper directory tree structure onto the new drive.. Then somehow setup GRUB or something similar to boot ROS pro...

Re: What the?

Yeah thats linux.. you can take a bare linux install and skin it to look like Vista and stuff.. and then install WINE + the basic apps and stuff.. I've seen those themes around on KDE and GNOME theme repo sites some time ago .. And one thing to be noted on http://www.linux-xp.com/about/compatibility...

Re: ReactOS 0.3.5 delayed...

ReactOS will remain compatible with NT based OSs .. and if someone needs a reminder then Vista too happens to be NT based .. implies ROS will remain binary compatible to Vista .. As a matter of fact ROS already has a few Vista specific ApIs afaik .. Now for "My Opinion" Hardware which runs...

Re: MIT Liscense...

Hello,
GPL compatible license list here ..
http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/license-list.html

But the point is that ReactOS (by the policy and the devs decision) will not except non GPL code in the source base .. even if the license is GPL compatible ..

Re: is ReactOS for real?

Stop this personal flaming will you?? Last time the forum used to have such stupid accusations and flame wars which made me stay away from the forums .. If no one has anything to say with respect to the real topic then just end the discussion here .. Such flame wars are pretty much the reason people...

Re: is ReactOS for real?

Complaining about blockers won't do any good for ROS progress.. The devs don't create blockers .. The blockers turn up .. The devs fix them .. And ReactOS "tries best" to keep releases on time .. but broken releases won't do any good .. pretty pointless.. whether 0.4 comes on time or later...

Re: ReactOS on an Ext2/3 partition (instead of NTFS)

Last i checked we have Ext2 driver in trunk(for ages) and it itself should work .. But a few other things stop it from working .. thats why we had a cc rewrite branch .. which never got done .. but temporarily plans have changed for NoCC .. And probability of Ext2/3 is going to be higher than NTFS a...

Hello, Yes I have seen trac's integrated development system and it is pretty nice.. But ReactOS already has a proper Mediawiki, Bugzilla, and SVN view setup and we have ROS-diff mailing list to check out the changesets .. Anyway the problem with moving to trac would be that it would be a hell of a j...

Hello all .. 1-The thing is that the present ReactOS shell "will" remain the default shell for ReactOS according to the developers .. 2-You are always free to install any other shell on ReactOS just like on Windows..(includes the Cairo shell here) 3-I looked at the site and it clearly stat...
