Now I just need to change the loader around a little bit by the looks of it. Build a scan of the registry copy out require modules copy to the grub boot system. Load them as modules and connect them. Is the any partical reason why the os cannot load the NLS files without freeloaders help. I will mos...

What is freeldr doing in the registry accessing driver list.

Why does freeldr need to go in that far.

If all drivers loading are the min what is freeldr after in the registry.

You would think that other setting could be changed after load.

long term compex problems from bootloader and kernel work.

Boot loader appears from what I can tell loads all the drivers defined. As people try building new filesystems this boot loader is going to be a trouble. Lets try to reform the boot process a bit. Current system requires 2 filesystem drivers for each filesystem one in the freeldr and one in the OS. ...

All depends where your goverment sits.

http://www.jankratochvil.net/project/captive/doc/Architecture.html.pl#law Someplaces using the windows driver is perfect and legal. Someplaces not. All depend EULA rules in your country. Some countrys only part that means something is the number of machines you are allowed to install the software on...

Hmm it is not a 3rd party app if its intergated.

Disable is not always a option either. I have a few cases where file shares exist on Internet linked networks. The firewall clearly says I will only talk to machines in this IP range if not in this IP range will not even admit that this computer has filesharing(in the form of windows shared folders)...

Ok don't understand outbound blocking.

Its is number one that you don't infect other users. Number two you get a non internet program and first thing it trys to do is dial home you have a problem. Now you can stop you machine and used a boot disk to fix it or remove the program before it gets to spreed. MOST to ALL viruses come from user...

Did and know about clamwin.

Problems with Clamwin no great realtime filescanning. Protects from email with outlook express(no use to us) and the interface still needs a good lot of work. It is based on Clamav and need expandion. Patching back doors works so well. But not all viruses depend on back doors in the os some depend i...

Yep it is a form of network boot.

Ramdisk is used to store stuff like config info so system does not have to ask the server every time. Problem is network boot is used for thin clients and thick clients. Thick clients run there own programs. Thin clients the server runs the programs. This is a thick client setup but ramdisk means so...

I think I will explain mine

You have 100 termals using network boot. Each reaquire 10 mbs pers to run ie one 1000 mbs network card going to a switch from a file server. Now raid or ATA over Ethernet using software raid of harddrives and 100 desktops. Now to update 100 machines you just update one and reboot the rest. One machi...

http://www.hsc.fr/ressources/outils/pktfilter/ http://sourceforge.net/projects/tdifw These are windows allready. http://coombs.anu.edu.au/ipfilter/ This could be embed in the reactos kernel. Other feature http://www.hh.iij4u.or.jp/~yukon/soft/pipmasq/ could be embed as well. The front end is the pro...

Scottie Better illegal than complete file loss.

This is the risk with writing to a undocumented filesystem with a driver out side our control. Complete file loss has happened many times to the linux-ntfs and from installing a older version of windows and writing to a partion without updating the driver and other tools for accessing the ntfs files...

I will get this back on topic.

Number one Reactos emulates Direct X by opengl. So a opengl by Direct X is just going to create a loop not nice. But looking at the driver code might be able to directly link opengl to direct X drivers so opengl can emulate Direct X. Yes this is really nasty and should be cleaned up at some point bu...

Linux live cd are the rules are strange to say the least

Depending on the live cd. Some live cd ie knoppix compress the cd using a different iso standard to do it. So the Cd is left in use to load programs from. Ramdisk in this type is used to store configs and home directory. Others copy all require programs into ram so the cdrom can be unmount/ejected M...

Lets make this simple.

Reactos 1.0 has to ship with this min. A working firewall not a half one(Microsofts One incoming only)a full firewall there are free ones around that could be embed. Clamav interface in the filesystem. So virus filtering can be done all every read write.(this can be turned off if another virus scann...

Now I start this I will end this everyone leave this thread

Number one we have ntfs read support without microsoft ntfs driver(safe not a probelm) So this is most of the developer here required due to the fact that to interface with ntfs safely read write you need Microsoft Own ntfs driver. Please note Microsoft can still change the licence on this at any ti...
