Re: Is anyone working on a react os ide?
Why spend time on Linux when there is Unix? Why spend time on ReactOS when there is Windows? You see the pattern? I personally would like a truely free and open source IDE. But whatever suits you. Greetings Peter The goals of ReactOS is just to write an open source clone of Windows. Nothing else. L...

Re: Is anyone working on a react os ide?
Why would you spend time on something like this if you can use visual studio?

Re: Deep Freeze or similiar solution
after copying wow32.dll from windows 7 to ReactOS System32 DriveImage XML starts and runs and crating a backup image works You could look into porting wow32 from wine to reactos. (But you'd have to remove some of the indirections they do to krnl386.exe, and drop code directly in wow32.dll for now) ...

Re: Making ReactOS a better experience in VM. Could you ship ReactOS with hardware drivers for hardware that is virtuali
Last week i tested the latest official release of ReactOS and the latest nightly build in a kvm-qemu vm. And the thing that was really annoying was, that ReactOS did not ship with open source drivers for hardware that is default in typical virtual machines. Besides the problem, that installing the ...

Re: Using ReactOS to learn Windows System programming -is it viable?
Thank you for your reply! I did a search for the book you mentioned and found this link which leads to a Microsoft article on it. I mention this because that article points to this github repository of supplemental material (MIT licensed) that might be of interest (but not obvious). yeah that is on...

Re: Where do you change email address
It was in reply from the man in charge to a post I made in mattermost, who wrote: "That probably needs a more prominent link.." I had a look when I read your post and I could not find where to change email addresses. Still don't see it. because you refused to get into the chat (matt...

Re: RAPPS pre & post installation scripting
1: No it does not include something like that.
2: The best way is to create your own installer (or add a scripting like that to rapps, but that involves writing code which most people don't seem to want to spend time on)

During cia.vc era I could easily trace commits, but where do I find them now? I would like to see these speed increase There is an activity stream channel in mattermost, there is git/github where you can subscribe, there is the mailing list https://reactos.org/mailman/listinfo/ros-diffs how many wa...

Re: [SOLVED]Is there a configuration where most things just work?
Personal opinion: Offer a configuration with "Linux as firmware", if possible. I.e. when people install it, it installs into a VM straightaway. There is nothing "shameful" in that, and it will INSTANTLY make ROS "more widespread", IFF that is even desired. Why would we...

Re: 0.4.13 Testing
I tested ReactOS more than 5 years ago, and discovered it was quite useless for me, it didn't support my usb-mouse. After testing this latest release (on modern hardware), it still can't support a basic usb mouse...is this a joke? In the device manager, it even states I have ps/2 mouse which is wor...
