Re: abandoned?

This post is nothing but fud, He has a single post and reeks of ignorance, clearly isn't on the mailing list and has failed to read anything at all from either the forums or the newsletter. I don't think he is at all concerned with RoS and simply wants to splash the term ABANDONED! across the screen...

Do the forums use a rel="nofollow?

I was thinking about adding a link to my signature and was wondering if it was worth the effort

Re: ReactOS in developing countries?

Developing Countries Most Students I know bought the $30 copy of Win7 As for the rest having to shell out $99 - $199 I dont know a single person who didn't pirate it and then just install a pirated copy of Office 2007 and AVG Free. MS needs to get in touch they have a strong market share but haven't...

Re: 99 man effort.

Well, there are approximately 6.8 billion people in the world, 500 million is a half a billion. Round up 6.8 to 7 billion, divide by 500 million, and you get 14. Therefore, by Nute's calculations, 1/14 of humanity knows how to program. Now the question is "How many of these programmers program...

Re: 99 man effort.

I wish you the best of luck on the publication, I have been cleaning up the wiki off and on for a few months now and over all have seen much progress from other users as well. It does seem much more professional, though we are in great need of citation as you have stated. I'll try and back track and...

Re: Legal questions

It's reverse engineering 101 only virgins can code clean code, but those with experience and exposure are allowed to document the workings of a component.

It's been this way ever since compaq reverse engineered the IBM rom-bios.

It's the only way to ensure clean non-pirated code.

300TB Hard Drives... Well it's almost 2010

It's amazing what the media will do just to have something to write about. Though in any case some times old news stories can be an amusing thing. http://www.itwire.com/content/view/8350/52/ 300TB hmm, Still waiting on a line of 5tb's so I can upgrade my over worked 4x2=8TB Storage Server... A 300TB...

Re: Additional Feature

Andrew I'm sorry to say, but unless you add those features yourself and submit it to the trunk you most likely wont see them until we are at least as v1.1 or v1.2 so in other words a decade or so. So my advice is to try and add the features yourself, as the focus right now is on matching windows fir...

Go for it, though if you have a windows license what is the point. If you copy the DLLs your running a large chuck of windows not the true RoS.

Re: A question about raw console mode in ReactOS

Wow, I'm going to need a shot for this one. I like the concept of a multi tasking command line, but at the same time I see it as a complete debacle. You would basically have to completely reinvent the concept of CMD as an interface, as well as finding some way for the user to switch between differen...

Re: ReactOS 0.3.11 and end of October...

After reading (and lol'zing at) this thread, I figured I'd give a shot at making an answer even if this guy is too thick to appreciate or understand it. The reason pestering for a new ReactOS release to come out faster won't work is because of the following: [*]ReactOS is an open source project. Un...
