Re: Re:

Split the disk into two or more partitions, boot some OS from one of them, boot ReactOS inside a VM and install it on another real partition. That's how I usually install it. Or install ReactOS on some (real or virtual) machine and copy files using USB stick or what else. Not so much of 1337 h@><. ...

Re: Netbooks, Netbooks, Netbooks...

It would be nice to see ReactOS running on netbooks :) Although the specifications of those machines aren't impressive, I think Ros will run perfect as it needs only a little to run. Only installing is a pain in the ass now since they dont have a cd/dvd player. (are there any methods of installing ...

Re: Helping Out

Thanks, I will have to install firefox though. The browser I user is 'Microsoft Internet Browser'. Which reminds me, does anyone know what the plan of action is on a React OS web Browser? Dan "There won't be one" - Instead, users can download whichever browser they prefer using the Downlo...

Re: Marvell Network Cards?

Of course, I can't even begin to install it yet ( USB Support cannot be set to Legacy through the BIOS for ReactOS even though the BIOS has support for it. ) Why do you need USB support for a network card? Apparently Marvell isn't common enough to be listed for support with ReactOS. Nay, good sir, ...

Re: Simple as,, uhm, yeah, Gaming.

i might just give it a try anyways, i'd be happy to deliver some feedback on my experience if it is relevant? ReactOS is still in alpha stage. More feedback is always welcomed, but be aware that you might lose important data due to bugs in ReactOS. If the MacBook is your primary computer, DON'T DO ...

Re: Simple as,, uhm, yeah, Gaming.

So to put it simple: No at present. But sometime in the future? Yep. Given the choice between ReactOS and Vista as a gaming OS, I'd say Vista every time. + Sound has only recently been implemented, so you'd most likely have to forego audio. + Not many video cards work yet. Some people would say tha...

Well, Elledan did a while ago. And then I guess she exploded or something, since she hasn't been around the forums for a while.

Re: Helping Out

Not only this, what is uded to compile the source code? Do you use Windows, Linux, ect? You need to use the ReactOS Build Environment to build ReactOS. It is available for both Windows NT and UNIX-like OSes. Read more here: http://www.reactos.org/wiki/index.php/Build_Environment If you're keen on g...

Re: Netbooks, Netbooks, Netbooks...

Yes, it doesn't satisfy me one bit. I want to be able to emulate PS2 games (SMOOTHLY) Whereas I don't. I just want to browse the Interwebs and edit some text on the move. Therefore, the lack of power is acceptable to me because the trade off is a longer battery life. What you want is a gaming lapto...

Re: React OS Problem

By the way, does react os support wireless cards before I put one in? I don't think that wireless devices work yet. These two links seem to indicate that they do: http://dreimer.dr.funpic.org/sblog/blog.php?id=9 http://www.reactos.org/archives/public/ros-dev/2009-April/011506.html But this is from ...

Re: New Here

Hi, Welcome to the React OS project. I am also learning C, C++, and NASM assembly language. Which assembly language does React OS use? Dan NASM is what's included with the ReactOS Build Environment. NASM (which is already in the standard build environment) can produce 16-bit .COM-style executables ...
