Re: JIRA
A number of users are running into this issue. Might it be worthwhile to include a line of text on the error page that basically says "if you've just register, you have to wait a few hours for the system to update"?

Re: ReactOS (USB) TO GO
It doesn't haven't to be a Live version if we're running off USB. But ReactOS really needs the USB stack & drivers first.

Re: ReactOS (USB) TO GO
Rufus is an easy way to create bootable USB drives from an iso file. I really don't think USB booting works in ReactOS yet. But you could try it and see!

Re: Duplicate bug reports considered harmful
I've used launch pad a few times for bug reporting for a different project, and any time you try to create a new bug, it will auto-search existing bugs based on keywords the reporter used to describe the issue. The user then can select an existing bug, or elect to create a new one. A similar auto-se...

Re: Probably another stupid question, but...
Thanks for the link. I hadn't heard about it, but it has nothing to do with age (I'm older than you are, EmuandCo ). I've just never been involved in the Linux community.

EmuandCo: What did you mean by '(OMGWTFBBQ!!!!! 11111eleven)', ppl, STFU ? Maybe I am asking for full meaning. More internet slang. Many of these terms can be looked up online to get the definition. OMGWTFBBQ!!!!!11111eleven -> look this one up to understand the full details, but it essentially is ...

Re: How did you know about ReactOS?
@Michael Long: An OS is a digital software, it is entirely impossible to damage your hardware physically... It's actually NOT impossible for software to damage hardware. It has happened before - never related to ReactOS as far as I know - but it's incorrect to say it's impossible. (For example, htt...

Check these links for lots of good quality information on how to report bugs. The better the bug report, the more likely a fix can be made.

pr0n (internet slang) --> sexy, cool, etc. Do not google this term unless you want to see Not Safe For Work results/images.
SCO --> no idea, that one is new to me too
naiive --> naive (young, immature, foolish, etc). More properly written as naïve, but that is falling out of common use.

Hi Michael. Thanks for your input. I don't think The_GTA is too worried about getting an answer - it was one question (and 1 post) over a year ago, and hasn't followed up or shown any other interest since. *shrug* These things happen. But it would be awesome if you stuck around, tried ReactOS in a v...

Re: Druaga1 is Installing New ReactOS on 3 Computers (0.4.6)
You seem to be forgetting that virtual machines: 1) provide an excellent & fast environment for developers and testers 2) provide consistent hardware to ensure the software is working correctly before being introduced to hardware bugs 3) are actually used in production as data centers etc and ar...

Re: I Really Want to See Success...But..
You could even start a new thread first to see who wants to contribute how much, then go make a bounty for the total amount, and of course post a link to it on the forums. The bigger the reward, the more likely someone will be able to put aside their IRL work to tackle the bounty.

I haven't tried many Linux distros, but at work I use CentOS myself. Kinda surprised it hasn't been mentioned yet.

Re: OpenGL and DirectX or ReactX ?
No. I did not try it much. It is of course a wrapper that helps to maybe convert DirectX to OpenGL to Hardware. So it is a parts of Wine. Remove it. ... Erm, the Wine and ReactOS projects share a lot of code with each other. It's a mutually beneficial relationship that improves both projects. It's ...

Re: How did you know about ReactOS?
Like oldman, I found ROS about 15 years ago. I loved the Windows platform, but hated the direction changes I saw MS taking (fancier UI that offered less function, certain features disabled unless you paid for a more expensive license, etc). I figured I wasn't the only one who felt that way, did a lo...
