What is your programming language? You need one to develop ReactOS,try C++,its the bomb! No! Most of ROS is written in normal C, with some of the kernel in Assembler. If you want to be a huge help to ROS, C is a must. So 1st is to find a book that will teach you C. Second is to find something which...

Mike needs to die in a fire, and its a shame GvG left, he was such a great contributor. :( Is what they're saying about trap.S true? :? If we were reverse-engineering everything, why is it taking so long then? And why is most of the project C instead of Asm? Honestly... Don't feel disheartene...

More tools the better for scanning for bugs. So of the finds will be incorrect in some cases. Reactos could always armor itself with something like http://www.ecsl.cs.sunysb.edu/dira/. But that does not fix the problems. Scanning tools are a good shield. I would say any good open source ones found ...

In addition to Coverity, I found this tool called Oink which does a similar thing (I think).

i think we could open a thread thinking about which companies would help reactos and trying to contact them... I think IBM would be quite interested. They were the big bad monopoly in the 80's (70's?), but when their BIOS was clean room reverse engineered and implemented on competing machines, they...

I don't know if you can debug a specific file, but I know that if you select "ReactOS Debug" in the startup menu it will write all the debug output to %systemroot%/Reactos/debug.log You'd be much better off asking development queries in the IRC channel. Most development talk goes on within there. (i...

If you mean Task Scheduler, I don't think that's even been started yet... Be sure to make it Windows compatible (bonus points for Vista compatibility): http://windowssdk.msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms730910.aspx I'm not a developer so you should go to the IRC channel where the geniuses hang out...

Re: Drivers

First of all let me thank all of you guys for what ur doing. I installed reactOS 3.0.0 on a PIV machine and i have the following questions? 1. The graphics I get seem more like the screen shots of 2.9.* in this web site rather than the ones for 3.0. Is this normal? or didn't reactOS recognise my vi...

I'd like to see Nuvola in ReactOS:

Come on guys, why can't you deviate from Windows where you can? Use some attractive icons and you can really make yourselves look ahead.

Here is another GPL free fdisk tool designed for FreeDOS called Free FDISK. The project seems to have died in 2003 though, but I'm sure you can take what's available and build on it. :D

Alt-Tab, Switcher vs Exposé?

Hi guys, just me again. I downloaded the 0.4-SVN a few nights ago and played around with it. Aside from the 100% CPU troubles Qemu was giving me, I was really impressed at how much progress you guys have come. Anyway, there's one feature missing from ReactOS. Yes, I know it's not important yet, that...
