Re: 64 bit builds?

The 64 bit version compiles quite a bit, but not all of the source. It currently boots on qemu and VBox. It loads freeldr, which loads the kernel and the bootdrivers and jumps into the kernel. The kernel does some initialization and then dies as soon as interrupts are turned on. The reason is that t...

Re: ReactOS minimum requirements...

These days, Windows XP will run on a 233 mhz Pentium or a 500 mhz K6-2, but the experience isn't all that pleasant. It seems that a minimum of a 1 ghz PIII and at least 256 megs of ram is needed to run Windows XP comfortably, though I've never actually tried it on a 1 ghz PIII. Runs very well on my...

Re: VirtualBox video driver works

The glitches are fixed and switching resolution works now without hax.
When you install "VBoxGuest.sys" driver, for some reason there will only be a maximum of 800x600 available, if you don't install it, you can switch to higher res, too.

Re: Change Linux to GNU/Linux on the website

Oh well, We can probably agree that GNU/Linux is an OS (altough Ged might disagree on this). But GNU (explicitly without Linux) is not. A kernel is an integral part of an OS. ReactOS without it's kernel, would be - like GNU - useless. So when referring to the OS, Linux is not optional, it's integral...

No, Purple Pill! Everyone reading this thread will automatically enter with his mind into virtualization. Congrats, from now on you're under total control of the Hypervisor, which happens to be ME.

Re: 1:1 MSPaint clone - not ? but !

What I can see from the screenshot looks good. And if it's pure C + Winapi + a windows Paint clone it would fit exactly into our code base. Some questions: Are the icons free? Where are they from? What functionality is implemented so far?

I wonder why people often put Video and audio players into the same pot. I have an audio player runnung >90% of the time I'm on my PC. It must be leightweight, hide in the systray and be able to manage a huge bunch of mp3s and play internet radio. MusikCube is my choice here. (2MB mem and ~0% cpu) A...

I agree the concept is interesting. I created a small program and it compiled without any problems on codeblocks + gcc. But there were some problems. For example I couldn't use the date time picker, wich was located inside a tab control. Some other things: - The tab control could need a way to reord...

Any news about ros-calc? We currently found several problems with wine calc, wich is really a mess imo and I'd be happy to import ros-calc into our tree. Requirements are: - it compiles in our tree (would be great if someone could provide an rbuild file) - major bugs are solved If you think it's rea...

But please don't nail us down on that. It's probably a little too optimistic. 2007 is unrealistic, but maybe 2008.
As a general rule: It's ready, when it's ready. ;-)

It's a bug in the program. As I said the ellipse isn't there on windows. It should cover the complete window and draw a border around it. The APIs FillRgn and FrameRgn are used as a convenient way to draw in the region. In this case they draw the grey background and the darker frame of the ellipse. ...
