There are probably more Microsoft lawyers than ReactOS developers. lol

Re: my thoughts

In spite of Nute's lack of reason, and with Nute apparently finally receiving the banhammer, I think we can all look back and realize that we've gained something out of our experiences with him. nute - 1. (verb) To aggressively nag others and express constant pessimism, while possessing an argumenta...

Re: Big list of games, that works on ROS.

I haven't been actively testing ReactOS lately, because I've been busy with classes and I was having the same issues with the Compatibility Database as wojo664. However, way back when I found out that Cave Story worked, though the controls lagged and full-screen mode displayed weird, though windowe...

Re: Win32 rename to ROS32

Yet Another Rewrite of the Old Windows Subsystem. Its an effort, led by Timo (Physicus) to rewrite few of the murkiest and mostly left alone reings of our Win32 subsystem. Partly a response to ARWINSS creation, one could see those as rival subprojects... Just a different aproach, if you ask me. YAR...

Re: Away on vacation

Z98's newsletters are the clear, hindsight news reports, and b4dc0d3r's reports are the cutting-edge, fresh-off-the-press news. Both are useful, IMO.

ReactOS is a good way to appear even more geeky than the Linux guys, since even they don't know what the hell you're talking about. :P

Re: Win32 rename to ROS32

If a program is looking for Win32 and sees ROS32 instead, could that cause software compatibility issues? I know that it's sloppy programming for a program to look for a directory by name like that, but hey, this is Windows. What is Yarotows, anyway? I see it mentioned in CIA a lot, but I don't know...

I wasn't quite sure of where extensions fit in, so thanks for clarifying for me. :)

EmuandCo wrote:Why should they be not? Both companies fully support the i686 Architecture and that's what ROS is built for.
He might be referring to instruction sets specific to certain processors, such as MMX and 3DNow! (Though those are older examples.)

Re: Trunk 47121 Live ISO Virus

I get Norton Security Suite because I'm a Comcast user, but back when I still had dial-up I used Comodo Firewall and it was pretty good. (I used McAfee for my antivirus, but it generally wasn't great.) Now Comodo has Anti-Virus, too, but I'm not sure how good it is in relation to others. I do know t...

Re: ReactOS CLT Version

...So the CLT version can install from the liveCD? Will that make it into 0.3.12?

I downloaded the CLT version a while ago and I couldn't figure out anything special, besides the wallpaper and the fact that I can't speak German.

Re: A personal thank you to the ReactOS development team!

Great to hear that the resolution bug is being worked on. Always having to reset ReactOS for that was a pain. It's nice to hear that ReactOS is making more progress. I was starting to get worried, since it's been five months since 0.3.11. Hate to ask, but are there any rough estimates on when we sho...

Is there any way that CIA posts could link to articles in with more information on their subjects? For example, the commit message reading: [GDI32] - Use device string when given one in IntCreateDIC [WIN32K] - Exchange pdevmode when excahnging PDEVOBJ pointers - Update Globals gdi devcaps when switc...

Re: Activity summary

Great work, b4dc0d3r. These summaries are really informative. Does the wiki have this kind of information? Not,it doesnt :) Nor should it. Updates on development are probably not wiki material, which is understandable. I actually meant the information on the various branches, though I didn't state ...
